It wasn't bad just not great (and the prices encouraged me to expect great).
We stayed a Friday and Saturday night at the end of November to do some Christmas shopping. The reception staff give the impression they are superior to you and can't seem to empathise with what guests want. Take extra bath towels for example, what is a reasonable time to wait for housekeeping to satisfy your request? 40 minutes and two phone calls and a personal complaint at reception is apparently ok.
So, when we discover that one of our shopping bags went missing from our room on Saturday, how many times would you expect to have to call the hotel up before you get a response? 5 phone calls and one call back in 5 days, no apology.
Given the price, I also expect collections of dust, hair and fluff in the corners of the room to have been cleared before we check in. I didn't report it (owing to the lack of response to the towels) and they were still there on the second day - that's inexcusable.
My advice: choose Blossoms (MacDonald Hotels) or any other Chester hotel if you want value, cleanliness and service.More
