Just come home from a one night stay at the Adobe with my partner. Fantastic hotel! Check in only took a few minutes and we had no problem with our key card either. We stayed at the comfortable room which includes many things. We had a balcony, complimentary toiletries, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe to use and you also get an ironing board and iron plus a hair-dryer to use. Bed was very comfortable and I had a good sleep; the shower was fantastic as well! Heating was very good there too. Staff were very nice and welcoming. A very short distance from the Grosvener Shopping Centre which was ideal for us as our trip was to do some Christmas shopping. Would definitely recommend this to anyone as I enjoyed the stay very much and will definitely go there again!

During October HT I stayed at the hotel with my partner and had a wonderful relaxing time.
Check in:The check in was fairly simple and the staff were polite. We were given out room card and up off we went.
The room:We had booked a desirable room but there was an inital mix up and we were put into a comfort room (a smaller and more basic room), we rang reception and it was easily rectified. When we got to the room it was very spacious with a huge comfy bed. The room was very clean and the bathroom was nice with a good shower. The towels were huge and fluffy.
The food: As part of our deal we had a meal booked in the MC bar and grill however due to a private function we were upgraded to the restaurant on the 5th floor. We had a lovely meal and it was a great treat...the meal included wine and we shared a bottle of reasonable wine. The food was very good I had rissotto followed by hogget (lamb) both were excellent but the best course for me was the pudding, I had a lemon pudding which was top quality.
The breakfast: The next morning we had a very good breakfast, there was a good selection and the hot food was cooked to order. I had a sausage bagette which was lovely.
All in all it was a good stay, watch out for the car park as it is harder to find than you would think. You haqve to go past the hotel to get to the entrance.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the hotel on their tastes of autumn deal. With us booking for the last two nights of the deal the menu had been changed and so we benefited from an upgraded menu at no additional cost. The food was excellent and service from the staff in the cafe bar and grill was equally impressive. The breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of options. The food was well prepared and staff very pleasant and helpful. We had booked in to a 'comfortable room' and it was exactly as described. The one criticism i would make is thatduring our stay we had very cold weather conditions with snow and ice. We discovered that there was no heating installed in the bathroom which for such a modern hotel is very poor. However i wouldnt hesitate to return to the hotel, but only during the warmer weather. The underground car parking is limited but had no problems finding the entrance or where to park once inside. Worth the ten pound charge to know that the car is secure.

my wife and i stayed at the chester abode hotel in november 2010,
we stayed utilising an autumn deal which was based on room, brekfast and evening meal.
on booking i upgraded the room to a desirable room and on arrival was allocated a room which was clean however not special with a view of the council offices which occupy half of the total building.
at dinner we entered the cafe bar and grill and although realistically we didnt expect a full menu choice we were given a choice of only three cut price dishes along the lines of cheese and onion pie.
when we stated that the choice was poor we were provided with a further two options which we agreed to take to avoid a scene.
on arrival the food was poor and not to the standard we had expected.
again i pointed this out and eventually the executive chef spoke with me informing me that i had only taken a cheap deal and what should i expect.
i found this insulting as other diners could clearly hear his comments.
on leaving the hotel i complained to the duty manager and further the general manager who did not resolve my complaint to any satisfaction.
on checking my bank statement i discovered that the hotel had debited an additional £164 from my account.
as i submit this review this figure has not been returned despite the company accepting the error.
beware there are better value and facility wise hotels in chester.

An excellent hotel, very friendly & helpfull staff, makes a nice change, nothing too much trouble, we used the car park no problems there, were on an inclusive Dinner Bed & breakfast rate, had dinner in the cafe / bistro, we were on the take 2 deal with wine £99, only problem was the limited choice on the menu, so we opted for choices off main menu, portions very good, we both had rump steak, very good quality, if i had a criticism it would be being hit 12.5% service charge even in the bar. bed room was excellent, very soft bed, and large !!, free wifi excellent speeds, breakfast in the morning was excellent nice being served rather than queing at a canteen style, would definately book an Abode hotel again.,
