Part of the Hilton Hotel and newly opened. Has the atmosphere of a hotel restaurant but with utterly first rate cooking. Menu very British and tradional with starters such as potted duch or potted shrimps, oysters or smoked salmon, mains ranging from various cuts of steak to classics such as veal liver or fish and chips or lamb chops. Desserts contunue in the same vain with items such as Eton Mess and Cambridge Burnt Cream (i.e. the original British Creme Brulee). Good wine list too. Attentive service but still a bit typically hotel restaurant style - trained to be polite, efficient and attentive but lacky any real passion or interest. My visit was on a Tuesday night so don't be put off by lack of atmosphere as I'm sure it's much busier at weekends.
Lastly, the steak. The best I've ever eaten. Truly fantastic.
