At 60 years old I have visited many hotels and this one just stands out as the best my wife and I have ever stayed at. My children booked a 2 night stay as a Christmas present for us and absolutely perfect. Staff so helpful and polite .Quiet and lovely spa and pool. The choice of food was excellent and the breakfast was freshly made and hot. Tea/coffee making in room was ample. Unlike so many places we have been to, the mattress was firm and we didn't end up rolling into the middle of the bed.Nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of a corridor and so nobody was likely to pass our room in the early hours...

After spending what seemed like an eternity driving round looking at different hotels to have our wedding we finally decided to have it at Rowton Hall and we are so glad we did.
Rowton Hall is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Chester and what particularly attracted us was that they offer exclusive wedding packages where you have use of the hotel all to yourself.
In the run up to the wedding we made several visits to the hotel including an overnight stay and each time the service and food was exceptional so we had no doubt we had made the right choice.
From our first visit we thought the hotel had a homely feel and the staff there are an absolute credit, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel extremely relaxed in the run up that everything would go to plan....which it did and some.

The day itself was amazing....everyone loved the venue, thought the bedrooms were amazing and food lovely. most of the messages we received spoke of it being the best wedding they'd ever been to and how good the venue was.
I cant thank Tony, Kelly , and Keith ( and the rest of the guys there) enough and would definately recommend Rowton Hall as a place to stay and definately a wedding venue.

My husband and I have just had a two night stay and was really impressed with the hotel. From walking in the staff were very friendly and helpful . They had a good menu choice , and the price was well worth it . The bedrooms were nice and very clean . Thought the hotel was in a good location to get to local attractions . Also they have a lovely spa to go and relax and be pampered on your stay . Would highly recommend the Rowton Hall and will defiantly be going back there . Thankyou to all the staff for making our stay very pleasant.

Room Tip: We had a room with a view of the gardens

I booked this with my boyfriend on booking.com for a weekend away to do some last minute Christmas shopping. We originally booked a Junior Suite but on arrival we were upgraded to a Master Suite and we couldn't have been more delighted! The hotel had had a wedding the night before so it was very quiet, and in fact we were one of a select few of guests staying! The room was beautiful, everything a master suite should be. The room was very clean and the complimentary tea tray and the toiletries were of a very high quality.

We dined in the hotels restaurant for the evening and the food was absolutely beautiful! The waiter (annoyingly cant remember his name), was very polite and attentive and is a real asset to the hotel.

The spa was lovely, with a swimming pool, steam room and hot room and a jacuzzi. Again, we had the leisure facilities to ourselves for the whole of our stay which was fabulous! The grounds were beautiful and we had a lovely walk around them before breakfast.

The only issue we had with our stay was the fact that the hotel accidentally charged my boyfriends debit card twice..and it was a huge inconvenience to him as it led to him having a fine from the bank for being overdrawn and he had to borrow money off me to do his Christmas shopping. Because it happened two days before Christmas, he didn't get the money back until the new year...but it was an innocent mistake, and the hotel did call him straight away once they had realised what they'd done.

We had a great stay, the staff were very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the novelty of practically having the whole hotel to ourselves! We will definitely be returning.

very last minute booking, had been wanting to stay here for a while, when we arrived, lovely welcome, unfortunately heating off in the room so had to get changed in the cold, dinner (set menu)was fine, all courses apart from main that was grossly overcooked were lovely, a bit of a wait between courses, when we went to the bar afterwards we had to go looking for the bar man twice, didn't seem to be any staff around.so we gave up and went to bed.... following morning breakfast was a disaster ,no juice or glasses out, our breakfast order took 40 minutes to arrive and when it came it was cold, my poached egg was very underdone. it wasn't massively busy, there didn't seem to be enough staff or very un-organized, the lady on reception was very good and did knock a bit off the bill but all in all it was very expensive for what we got, really disappointed as looking at other reviews they definitely get it right but they were certainly off their game this weekend.

Recently returned from a 2-night break here. Despite the disruption caused by the huge storms of Wednesday night which caused havoc across the North West and the whole of the UK, including power cuts in the hotel, the staff were always hugely accommodating and made the experience a memorable one.

Service and standard was exemplary throughout and Chester is a beautiful city.

MY partner booked the hotel as a surprise birthday present for me, and although we only stayed one night and the hotel was very quiet, (we were the only people in the dining room having breakfast) I cant fault the service or the staff who so friendly and accommodating.

The room was big and stylish, with bathrobes and slippers provided, which is always a nice touch and the most comfortable bed, I think I have slept in at a hotel.

The breakfast was superb, with a wide variety of cooked and 'continental' choices...

If you are feeling energetic the walk a,along the canal to Chester town centre take about 50mins and is beautiful, if you are lucky as we were you might spot a Kingfisher.
