“I'm pleased that the Premier Inn was full”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2011

I had booked for my one nights stay in Chester and so when I found that the conveniently located Premier Inn was full I was directed to Brookside.
A very warm welcome on arrival and a very nice room.
I ate in their restaurant and the food was simple and good, with friendly service.
My room had a newly fitted bathroom which was very nice.
Free WiFi too.
The only negative was the breakfast, apparently locally sourced produce (from the local Supermarket cheap isle is my guess)
This did not spoil my stay and I would visit again.

stayed at this hotel 16-19th oct.staff very friendly on arrival, updated my room at no extra cost.room very clean.this is a gem of a hotel,2 star but could pass for a 5 star hotel.if you need a hotel in chester look no further, only a ten minute walk into town, fifteen minute walk to train station, the staff gave us directions to both places.the food was very good, the curry was out of this world.good bar prices.the hotel cat brookie shows up at night.will go back again,a great hotel.

Arrived to a friendly welcome, and shown to the room down some narrow stairs. We must have got the family room as it was a little cramped with so many beds. It was clean but could do with a lick of paint and the carpet was worn. The shower was a little dishevelled, and the bathroom needs a paint and modernization. Overall the experience wasn't unpleasant but as a 2 star it's probably the best in it's class.

Stayed here for the first time in over 20 years. I was just requiring a nice, quiet, clean and friendly place to spend an evening - this is exactly what it was. Represents excellent value for money and is a great alternative to the souless motorway and city centres Travelodge type places.
Lovely breakfast all include in a great value deal.

Would crtainly return.

This was our first night in UK and we liked our room the climb up the narrow stairs were alittle hard as the door at the top was hard to open and with suitcases difficult at best.(no porters to help the elderly) but a clean nicley decorated room with a desk and chair in this victorian setting. the breakfast was able but the sauages (bangers) were 3 rate alot of filler and I guess cheaper, rest was good. Service was lacking due to small staff in morning 2 wait staff for many tables, at night only 1 and that included bar service, so the wait was long. the food was average to slightly above average and there was alot of it. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel cat made an appearence which I liked. It was all very quaint and a quiet location but close enough to chester inner city, a walk or a bus very easy to do. it did have on site parking but not a large lot.

Room Tip: found my yahoo map directions worthless, GPS the way to find this nice little place

We stayed at The Brookside Hotel for a weekend in September, we did well to get a hotel at all what with Chester Races being on.

The hotel was great, just far enough out of town not to be affected by the business and the noise, but at the same time not too far away as it's easily walkable to the city centre.

Staff were very friendly and very helpful, and the rooms were very cute, we were on the top floor so it was nice and quiet at all times.

Would definitely stay here again next time we're in Chester

stayed here 2 nights for chester races, really enjoyed our stay staff really friendly good hotel for a 2 star bit old fashioned furniture in rooms but was clean why people moan about this hotel beggars belief,if want 5 star pay 5 star prices, the hotel rated 2 stars so 2star prices, drinks prices reasonable, evening meal was also very good and cheap.would defo stay here again felt nice and relaxed in bar area richard barman very chatty and helpful as were all the staff.
