The food served at the Faulkner is rather average, It exceeds no expectations by any stretch of the imagination, but it is by far the nicest and least rough of the pubs in Hoole, apart from one or two shifty people who look like they might've had a small role on Breaking Bad, It's quite nice.
There's Wifi there, so you can be the epitome of antisocial and become separated from your families/friends by being bound to cyberspace. The service is good, the staff are mostly friendly, apart from the one or two people who look like they'd rather be on death row. And the one who looks like he was on death row.

This is a gem of a place. This must have been our 4th or 5th visit and each one is more enjoyable than the last. We booked for our wedding anniversary to give an idea of how highly we rate The Faulkner. To call it ‘pub grub’ is unfair as the quality of food produced would sit well in any good restaurant. How many pubs can boast stone-baked pizza as an example?

The food, surroundings and really helpful staff make this place highly recommended by me. It’s a shame so many pubs don’t go that extra mile and throw away the microwaves and cook lovely fresh food like this place. I thoroughly recommend the fish and chips and pizzas here. Lovely!

A good place for those seeking a boisterous night-out. To be fair to the staff, they found us [two parties of 5 people] a quieter corner to eat. Meal was quite decent for such a busy place.
