I love staying here for special occasions and have done so a few times. The staff and service is out of this world and the rooms are pure luxury. I cant wait to return.

Any client who visits the Grosvenor cannot fail to be impressed. Very pricey but thats how it should be. Once available only to the elite I imagine it is now available to most of the working classes because these days most of us can afford the odd luxury.

No shell suits and vest tops here. Its a quality hotel. The rooms are superbly appointed, the food excellent and the afternoon teas are ideal for shoppers looking to rest tired feet or as a treat for Mothers Day/Birthdays etc

The position of the hotel is great, in the City Centre within reach of everything. The views from the front rooms are tremendous, not so for the ones at the side or rear so its worth seeing if you can bag one at the front for your stay.

The service is spot on too- from the valet parking to the waiters in the restaurants. All very attentive.

The spa is Ok but no pool. (There is an arrangement with another hotel but its a bit of a trek!). We are also disappointed that part of the lounge has been converted to a chocolatiere which means there is less window seating.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the front

We were lucky enough to have a night in this fantastic hotel whilst being guests at Chester Races. We did not have time to take advantage of everything this hotel has to offer but will definitely stay there again for a special occasion

We have stayed here several times and always found it clean, luxurious and a pleasant treat! Food is the stand out of the hotel closely followed by the spa. Wonderful breakfasts and the brasserie is definitely worth a visit. The Simon Radley is far more formal with exceptional service and great food. Rooms are light, airy but feel rather old fashioned.

We really enjoyed our stay in a suite here. It is a very elegant hotel, with excellent customer service and very high standards. This is our hotel of choice in Chester. Also the Simon Radley is excellent just be sure to book a table in advance - like up to a month in advance.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you can. For a extra couple of hundred quid it's well worth the spend.

Having passed by this hotel on foot, many times, staying there lived up to the expectations one had. This is the only place to use if you are thinking of staying in Chester. Yes, it might cost more than many other hotels, but why not spoil yourself? It is after all in the centre of this wonderful city. The rooms are spacious and extremely well furnished. Staff are there to help guests and they certainly fulfill this essential role. Nothing was too much trouble and service came with a smile. With three choices of eating venues, all within the hotel, there is something for everyone from a bar meal in the Arkle Bar, La Brassiere and Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor. We tried La Brassiere and were not disappointed! Under the firm, but unobtrusive, control of a young French Manageress, the food quality matched the excellence of the service. One slightly down note for me was a mistake in the breakfast service, there was an error plus cold toast. Not what I expect at this level of quality. That said it still remains an outstanding hotel. It has all you need as a base, a spa, wi-fi, a daily information sheet (The Grapevine), covered parking and shops adjacent to the front door. One of the stars for me was Michael the concierge.

Room Tip: Be specific when discussing a room booking. They are all great - some are better in the front overlo...

Went here for an evening with my mum and sisters. All of us over 35. Landed and was a little confused how to get in from the car park but nothing major. Entered via the front door where we were immediately relieved of our bags. Check in was smooth then off to our room. Lovely decor and comfort. A little disappointed that there were no tea making facilities. Went into Chester for the afternoon and enjoyed the picturesque streets. Came back to the hotel around 6 and got ready for our meal in the Simon radley restaurant. This was a very special experience. Our order had been taken whilst sat in the bar and when each dish was served they knew exactly who had ordered which dish without asking. The staff were very attentive and each time we returned to
our seat from the ladies, there was someone to pull out your chair. The staff are knowledgeable
about the food and drinks and happy to advise on food choice. The meal itself was just as
expected. Well presented and perfectly cooked. We ate from the a la carte menu at £69 each
and this is expensive but you pay for the service as well as the food and there were plenty of
complimentary goodies. After dinner we relaxed in the bar where we received coffee and further
pastries and chocolate. Lovely! Off to bed and really comfortable, the only niggle was that our
room was situated above the main street and although they have made efforts to sound proof the
windows, you could still hear the revellers. breakfast was nice although you are charged an extra £12.50 if you want a full English as only continental was covered in the room costs. Nice
breakfast but nothing exceptional but again attentive staff. All together a great hotel if you can
afford a little extravagance because 1 nights dinner, bed and breakfast in 2 rooms cost 4 of us
nearly £1000.00.

Room Tip: You would benefit by having a room away from the main street especially if it is a weekend stay.
