Lovely, lovely hotel tucked away in Chester city centre, a true 5 star classic where nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The room (324) was lovely, in the new part of the hotel, spacious, MASSIVE bed, lovely furnishings, Bose iPod Player, Lowe TV...all the best stuff here!

We had Champagne Afternoon tea which was great, we ate in the Simon Radley restaurant, see seperate review...certainly an experience we'll never forget!

Breakfasts are served in the lovely brasserie, and were great. Staff always on hand to help, room service was fast.

My girlfriend used the spa twice for treatments and said they were superb.

I highly recommend the hotel and we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: 324 is a nice one!

We went to the Chester Grosvenor for the Jubilee weekend. We had booked an executive room with breakfast and dinner on the first night in the brasserie. We were shown to a choice of 2 rooms. They recommended the room overlooking a dark well as they said that the room over the front of the hotel would be noisy. We preferred the view over the front and took the room. It was double glazed and the people of Chester were very quiet in the evening. Breakfast was excellent though only continental was included and there were supplements for the cooked part. Service throughout our stay was exceptional. We only had 2 technical hitches. One day we came back to our room and someone's suitcase was in our room with post. We had it removed. The following day we had someone elses account through the door as well.
Overall the hotel was really lovely and I definitely would go back again.

Room Tip: Beautiful executive room overlooking the front of the hotel above the flags!

Myself and my Husband have visted this Hotel every year for the past 5 years and it became the obvious Hotel to hold our Wedding which we did in December 2011, i cannot fault any part of our day Paul Cookson, Craig and his team made our day seem effortless, the service, food, drinks were exceptional.. As a treat my Husband booked a 2 night stay over the Jubilee weekend 6 months after we married, again an excellent welcome from the staff who showed us to our gorgeous room.

On this occasion we did book in the Simon Radley resturant, the food and service was excellent and would recommend that you book in advance. On the 2nd evening we ate in the La Brasserie again excellent service and food with plenty of choice...

I would recommend a visit to the spa, you can also pay £35 per room and use the spa facilities for the duration of your stay, ie sauna, steam room etc.

Not sure what else i can say about this amazing hotel you need to visit!...

Not cheap, but worth every penny. The only thing that marred the experience was that the iPod dock worked intermittently and was very crackly. That really is nit picking though.

We had continental breakfasts in the morning and all the food was of excellent quality.

If you're staying I would highly recommend dining at Upstairs at the Grill which is a short walk away!

We have stayed for the second time this year at this amazing hotel and yet again was not disappointed . This time we had an evening meal in the Brasserie and was so glad that we had reserved this as it was fabulous atmosphere , amazing food and getting glammed up and eating the hotel was great ona very gloomy nights wether in chester . Cannot wait until we return ....

Room Tip: chose a room overlooking the front as rooms at the side can be less light ..

We recently stayed here for 1 night as a birthday surprise and were blown away on how nice this was. We normally stay in "nice" hotels when we go away anywhere, however this was the first time we had really treated ourselves to something special and we were very spoilt.
From the moment you arrive in the car park and walk through the entrance you know you are in somewhere special.
We stayed in an Executive Room and although the price for 1 night is similar to 1 weeks holiday, you cant help but be impressed at the attention to detail and luxuries everywhere you look.
The room itself was beautiful, an amazing bed with ample pillows, nice docking station for my iphone and toiletries (plantation) to die for. The only disappointment was the shower, and this maybe a minor detail but in a room of this quality and luxury I would expect a separate shower cubicle as advertised and photographed on their website.
Staff are excellent, very polite, professional and friendly and I would certainly recommend a visit there, especially for a special occasion

My fiancé and I stayed here in May this year for one night as we had decided to take a spontaneous trip over to Chester for some shopping and thought why not make a night of it.
The room was perfect, compact and oddly shaped perhaps but in an older style hotel that’s to be expected and adds a little quirkiness. The bed was large and comfortable and I am a dreadful sleeper but managed to have a good nights rest here. The toiletries in the bathroom were of an excellent standard and the towels were so fresh, crisp and soft.
The staff were faultless, arranging our dinner reservations on our behalf at “Upstairs at the Grill” (which is a lovely intimate restaurant for those who enjoy an excellent steak) and arranging for breakfast to be taken in our room to even clearing up our parking ticket fiasco (the machine had malfunctioned the morning we had arrived) by escorting us to the car park to collect the car and ensuring we were out through the barrier without any difficulty! Overall a superb stay, that did not fail to disappoint and we shall return again soon.

Room Tip: The only I may add is that this is a city center hotel so you can get a fair bit of noise from the c...
