Stayed overnight for my birthday with my husband, daughter and her fiance.
We all thought the rooms were lovely, and the staff so helpful and friendly.
We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but breakfast in the morning was great. No waiting for a buffet - everything was ordered, freshly made and brought to you. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for our 30th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The 2 night weekend break with dinner in the brasserie one night and Simon Ridley the second was first class. It was worth the upgrade to a suite which was very spacious. Breakfast in the brasserie was also very good and the extra for the full English worth taking. The location right in the centre of Chester is brilliant.

Room Tip: Go for an upgrade to a suite it's worth the extra.

Those who have not sampled the exquisite cooking from Simon Radley are missing out. We enjoyed the most sensational dining experience, enjoying the taster menu in Simon's signature restaurant. He is without doubt one of the best chefs in the country and deserves every accolade for his adventurous menu and impeccable presentation; served by the most professional staff, with wines presented by one of the most knowledgeable sommeliers around.
It was a culinary delight from start to finish.

We had a wonderful stay at The Grosvenor, from the minute we arrived to leaving, all the staff were superb, the doormen, check-in desk, restaurant and housekeeping staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was amazing, with every detail seen to. Unfortunately we stayed on a Monday night, and the Simon Radley Restaurant was closed, but a reason for returning again we hope. Thank you for a fantastic stay,.

we stayed 2 nights for our 25th wedding anniversary so booked this as a special treat.
The room (204) was barely big enough for a double bed,and had a view of a building.
The bathroom only had a shower, no bath, the sink struggled to drain the water away the toilet was difficult to flush.
There was no tea or coffee facilities in the room.
we paid a lot of money for this 2 night stay, we have stayed in much nicer 4 star rooms so we were quite disappointed. especially as we looked forward to this special event for so long. :-(

Visited the Grosvenor Hotel for afternoon tea while spending the day in Chester with a friend. We were really impressed with the staff to begin with. As soon as we walked through the door a member of staff asked how they could assist and promptly escorted us to our seats.
All staff were outstanding with their service, asking how we would like our sandwiches, my friend asked for 'plain' sandwiches and this was no trouble for them. The quality of the food was of a high standard. Having visited the Midland Hotel in Manchester for afternoon tea for many years, I'm thinking I'd rather visit the Grosvenor before the Midland next time. I will return! A big thank you to all the staff for making our afternoon so pleasant.

This was our first experience of the Grosvenor, and defiantly won't be the last. My mum & I were staying as part of a pamper for less package and we were not disappointed.
From the moment we were welcomed by a very jolly doorman, we found all of the staff who we encountered to be very helpful, efficient and friendly; nothing seemed too much trouble for them and it was nice to see staff who really seemed to enjoy their work.
The room was well presented, with a large comfortable bed, & all of the amenities expected from a hotel of this calibre. The DVD selection from reception was a nice touch.
We did not dine in the brassie but sampled some of the delicious cocktails in the bar, the quality of which enticed us to return later in the evening.
The spa was set in a small, but tranquil area and again the staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed our treatments & it was the perfect way to wind down after a busy day shopping.
Continental breakfast was included in our package and we were happy with both the range and quality of the food supplied (cereals, porridge, fruit salad, natural yoghurt, toast, pastries, croissants e.t.c). Again all of the staff were very efficient and professional.
Overall we had an excellent stay and found our package to be very good value for money. Hope to go back on our next shopping trip.
