A central Hotel that is easy to find and a shopping center car park undercover next to hotel.

The service in all part of the hotel was of an excellent standard, nothing was too much trouble.
The cocktails were excellent and the choice of wines was tremendous.

This is a lovely location for a wedding reception, the rooms were spacious and well appointed, the food was good apart from a rather peculiar 36hr beef dish which actually was inedible, however there was plenty of other food to sustain every one. Obviously on the top end and knows it, however it was a very good Reception, although we did not get to have any cake as we left at 10.30pm..The main thing was that the Bride and Groom were well looked after.

Room Tip: They are all expensive, but its what you would expect at this level.

Me and my hubby stayed here 4th jan 2014 and had a terrible time getting money taken from my card refunded. The hotel, service was fantastic just don't understand why they have to take room charge plus £200 on arrival then take the room charge again on checkout but take 6 days and lots of phone calls till it's refunded. When the room was booked there was no mention of these charges. Just be careful when staying other than that had a fab night there

The Grosvenor is a really nice hotel. The rooms were comfortable, nice mini-bar, the food was good, the breakfasts excellent, it is waiter service and you can ask for what you want. The restaurant and the bar are open to non residents and it can get lively, but then the hotel is in the centre of Chester. The doormen were extremely knowledgeable and could recommend nice pubs to wind down in after a heavy day shopping. The shops are fantastic in Chester, you can actually find different shops than you get in every other town and city these days. The Cathedral was lovely and is right in the centre of town, go to the Choir Service.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a superior / luxury room. We did not have a view and had high windows, but it was qui...

Took advantage of a Secret Escape overnight deal with 20% off food, drinks, spa treatments and use of the thermal suite ( usually £35 per room ). Booked as a treat for husband's 50th birthday and there was a small cake and note to my husband in the room to acknowledge this.
Living locally I have always admired this hotel as it exudes opulence as residents arrive they are met by the smartly groomed doorman and car taken care of. We chose to park our car in the NCP car park @ rear of the hotel which has a couple of reserved spaces for residents. Still got greeted immediately as soon as lift door opened and case taken and accompanied to check in which was a breeze.
The bedroom and bathroom were luxurious and kingsize bed was the best I have ever slept in. The walk down the stairway is impressive with the huge imposing chandelier and tasteful decor throughout.
I had a 1hr reflexology treatment which is the best I have ever had, masseuse very knowledgeable and informative when I was awake, nodded off which I have never done before. The thermal suite & relaxation lounge are compact but small is beautiful. There was fresh fruit, water & juice and a variety of upmarket magazines. You can use the facilities as many times as you want as it is a one off charge per room.
We ate in the Brasserie restaurant as stayed on a Sunday and the Simon Radley restaurant is closed. We did not have the set meal as limited so chose from the A-la-carte still @ 20% off. The meal was exquisite. The continental breakfast is plentiful, choice of hot & cold drinks, toast, cereal, various pastries (muffin, croissant, danish etc), and fresh fruit salad. All meals are silver service.
The Grosvenor ticks all the boxes and for us exceeded expectations and all the staff are excellent at what they do. It is on my Must do list to return.

A lovely treat from my old man ! We had a very relaxing time in a truly exquisite hotel. The room was tastefully decorated and furnished, king size comfy bed, continental breakfast more than adequate. Staff friendly and so efficient . Been there before many years ago and although the hotel is updated and modernised, the ambience was just the same. Superb. We hope to/will return in the near future.
