“A Right Royal Treat”

Stayed with friends at the Queen Hotel for last weekends Chester races, if you want quirky, stylish surroundings with staff who cannot do enough for you, head for this hotel. We stayed for the first time last year and just had to return. From the General Manager, Maitre D's, Waiter/ress, Reception and room servicing staff they are all determined to make your stay special. As already commented on other postings the station is opposite, as are taxis and a city bus tour stop.
If your planning a stay in Chester, the Queens in a must. We'll be back!

The Queens Hotel of Chester part of the Best Western chain was a lovely hotel. The hotel is very Regal and Grand and has the wow factor. We stayed whilst the Chester races where on in May and even though it was very busy with the hussle n bussle of race goers checking in and out the staff of the hotel were very efficient and professional and took meeting and greeting in their stride. We couldnt check in as we were very early with going to the races but our luggage was taken from us and stored away safe and as soon as our room was ready they transferred our luggage to our rooms for when we arrived back at the hotel. The hotel was across the road from Chester train station and is very central to all amenities.
The only downside to our stay was we were told there would be facilities to get changed if our room was not ready and we ended up getting changed in the gym. :( other than that I had no complaints and would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I think all rooms in the hotel would be good.

My wife & I stayed here for Chester races. The hotel is very comfortable - we had a room in the Kings which was great. The staff are ultra helpful and breakfast is a treat.

We would definitely recommend this hotel having stayed at a similar style character hotel in Bournemouth 2 weeks ago - this was 10 times better.

Booked an executive room as that was the only option available when I booked to go to the races. Arrived by train and realised just how close it was to the station which was great. Got upgraded to a fabulous suite. Very inspiring over the top Romanesque furnishing. Loved it. The staff are great - nothing too much trouble. Ate in the restaurant - service excellent and food brilliant. Not too fancy but great ingredients well cooked. We borrowed an iron and had an issue as it marked my partners shirt. Housekeeper came straight up to sort the problem or replace the shirt - which they did in 40 mins in time for us to get to the races. I would def stay here again.

Room Tip: The Augustus Suite was fab!!

Stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the past five years. The location is ideal for the train station and a very attractive town centre. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food a good standard. My only issue to highlight to anyone using this hotel is that it is a hotel of two halves. The kings is stunning, new and very comfortable I love it. The Queens is old, tired and not worth the money..I would recommend this hotel to anyone but only the Kings rooms. To the owners please please invest in upgrading the Queens rooms.

Room Tip: Select a Kings room

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend in one of the refurbished queens rooms. It was lovely. Very spacious bathroom. Hotel is 5-10min walk into town but opp railway station. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was plentiful. Never before have we had live music at breakfast!! Not sure!!
