I stayed here for a treat for my birthday, we got a cracking deal through the website, a nights stay in a queens double, 3 course meal, full english buffet style breakfast and a free drinks voucher! For £140 for 2 of us!
The room was well equipped and clean and tidy, the meal was of Michelin star quality, just gorgeous and well presented, and the breakfast was again plentiful and top quality.
It was a 5 minute walk to the bars on the canal and a further 5 minutes into the centre.
The only niggle was the price of the parking at the hotels carpark! £10! which I thought a bit on the steep side to charge residents. Quick tip, park on the train station carpark for half the price

Would I go again without the deal? Yes I would, a perfect night away.

we stayed at the Queen in Chester for a long weekend for my Husbands 60th birthday Super !!! No complaints, The hotel was beautiful and the staff very attentive, breakfast was lovely. Our only complaint was the razor plug point in the bathroom didn't work but we didn't bring it to the attention of the hotel staff who im sure if we had would have sorted something for us, We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back.

Good quality hotel, a bit pricey.

The decor is very elaborate, very Victorian and old-fashioned in more than one way (e.g. non-functional lifts). The room was comfortable and tidy, Good bed with plenty of pillows, good bathroom facility. Free, good WiFi. Modern, well-provided bathroom (although all the shower supplies smelled like Burmese Tiger Balm). Breakfast was plentiful, very good on the English side, a bit boring on the continental. Staff was kind but not on a hurry.

I have one gripe regarding the decor. Opinions may vary about Royalty, but I think very few people would claim that all of Queen Victoria's extended brood are to be respected. My room had a picture of Price August Wilhelm of Prussia. This son or the Kaiser was the proud recipient of membership card no. 26 in the German Nazi Party, actively supported Hitler and was tried and incarcerated briefly after the war. His (in)glorious biography is displayed next to the picture, so the hotel designers cannot claim ignorance. Tasteless? Extremely, in my opinion.

I was sceptical when I arrived at the hotel. It was a four star Best Western and I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
The hotel lobby was stylish; the front desk was a brilliant idea and having it underneath the sweeping staircase added to the wow factor.
My BF organised a surprise Birthday treat and we stayed in the newer Kings wing of the hotel. AMAZING.... it was gorgeous. We had the Julia Caesar themed room on the seventh floor. Very nice decor, very nice bathroom, bath big enough for two with separate shower and big comfy bed.
The hotel staff were kind enough to arrange an ice bucket and champagne flutes for our arrival.
Breakfast was plentiful with extras such as bucks fizz, bloody Mary and kedgeree available. It was definitely at the higher end of the hotel buffet breakfast scale.
I would recommend this hotel for a romantic break.
The bar staff were great and extremely knowledgeable

Room Tip: Go for the King Wing and stay in a themed room.

Once again, a perfect visit at the hotel! Everything spot on! Stayed for one night for my birthday and there was a wedding there on the same day. I did actually expect some noise (due to no fault of the hotel of course) but there was nothing!! Very quiet, relaxing and yet again, nothing too much trouble. Will be staying again soon!
