“Lovely stay”

7 friends and I have just got back from Chester, we went to the races. The hotel is beautiful, all our rooms were good sizes and really clean. The hotel is just opposite the rail station which was really convenient for us. Breakfast was perfect for preparing us for the day ahead, they even give you bucks fizz at the weekend, Richard the hotel manager was really helpful in offering advice on where to go and best way to get there. Ewan the concierge is hilarious too. All in all a very good stay and would definitely recommend.

Stayed on business as the Village Hotel Ewloe suspended our corporate rate for June/July due to hundreds of golf fans arriving in the region: The Open Golf Championship and of course, playing at local courses. Paid £90 including for night. By comparison Village was £175 per night. We intend to boycott that hotel now because of the way our regular custom has been abused and literally, disregarded. Made welcome, bar was full of all nationalities watching the World Cup football. The bedroom was quiet and pleasantly laid out; had a comfortable nights sleep. Definitely stay again. It surprised me what it offered. I thought it would be "noisy and just too busy" but the design of the hotel means it copes quite well. Staff were smiling and obliging from front desk staff to room & maid service. Regular coach parties were staying but were no bother really. Breakfast had great choice: different, locally sourced sausages were tasty. I'll be back again. Tom C Notts

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the car park - so, so quiet for a centre location and what is a hotel adja...

A really superb hotel which was relaxing and clean with really helpful staff. Was upgraded on arrival to the Kings which was a lovely experience. Lovely view of the roman gardens and a nice comfy bed. Luxury bath and a super walk in shower. Excellent location right opposite railway station and walkable distance to city centre.. Will certainly return.

We stayed here during the Chester races. There was also a wedding on at the same time. I have to compliment the staff on the way they managed such a busy weekend. The location is right opposite the train station but there is also a car park next door. The hotel charge £15 but the NCP next door is £5 for 24 hours. Literally alongside the hotel car park and the staff give clear directions to it as well. With so many restaurants in Chester we did not eat at the hotel in the evening but had a full breakfast. A lovely touch was a singer playing guitar at breakfast. A five minute walk to the canals turn left and you are in the city centre. Pubs on the way all highly recommended and all do good food. We upgraded to the king suites for a further £40 and I think it was worth it. Lovely room with robes and decor referring to the kings room you are in. We were in the French kings floor and in the Napoleon room. It is a big Grande hotel and very clean and tidy. If you are after a luxury hotel near the city I would recommend staying here. Ask for a free upgrade as the staff are so helpful they recommend asking as you have nothing to lose.

We have just stayed 1 night in this hotel, got a great deal through Travelzoo for £99, this included Dinner, Bed Breakfast, Free Bar Drink and 10% discount voucher for shopping at Cheshire Oaks Outlet Mall. We paid an extra £30 to stay in a Kings Quarters room, in our opinion this is a must, these rooms are ultra modern with aircon, the 3 course Dinner was in the Kings Grill Restaurant and it was excellent, the service from the restaurant staff was superb. The location of the hotel is directly opposite Chester Railway station, it is about a 15 minute walk to the main tourist centre area. Wifi is free in the rooms and throughout the hotel and had good connection speed, I so much dislike hotels that charge for wifi. Only negative is that the hotel charge £15 for parking Friday to Sunday and £10 other days. We will definitely stay in this hotel again when in Chester, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Kings Quarters Rooms are a must, we stayed in the Claudius Suite 1709, amazing Suite!

I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after us on the prom evening. The room and atmosphere was to the highest standard. The food and music was fabulous and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and pupils! Looking forward to going again next year!

I was in business meeting in Chester and flew from Ghana so stayed in this hotel, my English not very good but I was welcomed and treated in the upmost respectable manner by staff in hotel, the service is good as in a nice city, the workers in hotel work hard to ensure my stay was the best and I will be returning to stay at hotel in future and would recommend to anyone.
