Easy check in and lovely room. Comfortable and spacious enough even though we used sofa as pull out bed. Bathroom very big with huge bath which children enjoyed! Problem came when we wanted to sleep - very noisy outside our room. Room 119 just above reception area avoid if you can. Had to phone reception who said they'd speak to the offenders. Spoilt our stay.

This was our third stay at the Queens hotel and we have never been dissapointed. Staying in a kings room for my birthday my partner had booked us the seduction package. We were able to check in early which was great as we could leave all our bags and settle in to the room before heading out for the day. Upon returning to our room we found gorgous hand made chocolates and champagne on ice which was such a treat as we relaxed in the huge bath. We have always found the rooms to be super clean and comfortable and even more so with the addition of the lovely kings rooms. If I was being picky then the fact that one of our lamps didnt work and one of the spot lights in the bathroom was out would be our only complaints. The breakfast delivered to our room was amazing everything you could possibly want- that along with a hot power shower certainly sorted our hang overs out. Can't wait to return.

I have stayed here several times in the last month. The rooms are very comfortable, the price is reasonable and the staff are friendly. If you join the Best Western reward scheme they even give you a free room upgrade.

Just returned from a night away. stayed in Kings suite in an executive room and had the champagne on ice and chocolates upon arrival in our room. The rooms are spotless and spacious and the facilities in the bathroom are so efficient having both a shower and bath and excellent lighting. The king size bed was so comfortable with soft feather pillows.

The dinner is served in the Kings side of the hotel and the food is excellent..

Breakfast is served on the Queens side of the hotel, full english, fresh fruit, yogurts and danish pastrys as much as you can eat. . This is one of the best breakfasts that we have had. There is such a varied choice and the hot food is hot and is stocked all of the time. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble.

Chester town is only a short walk away with fab shopping and walks along the city wall. You can take a boat trip along the river Dee and take a picnic in the local park.

Excellent for a weekend break.Made even better when the free bar is on 5pm till 7pm.

Having got back today, having only stayed at the hotel for less than 24 hours, I was disappointed that we had to ring reception twice over faults. Having booked in we went to the room for a quick coffee before going out and about, and found out that evenutally the kettle didn't work. When we came back to the room and having been in for about 30 minutes, the lights fused, sending us all into darkness. I rang reception but was told, put the room card into the slot, room 303 doesn't have a slot and she was speaking to us as if we were stupid instead of sending someone up to come and put the fuse back in. (Cupboard located outside in the corridor and chap came with screwdriver to repair, eventually) The plus side, hotel is very grand and near train station, free bus into the centre, although it is walking distance. We paid £114 for a family room including breakfast, plus £10 to park for every 24 hours.

We stayed here for only one night on a weekend in March. For c£100 per night for a standard room these rooms are not value for money. The mattress was awful, very thin and soft. Either book a B&B or pay the extra for a room in the new "Kings" part of the hotel.

Like another reviewer, i booked the other best western (westminster) but was told i'd been upgraded...well if that is the case i'd hate to see the quality of the room i originally booked because this one is VERY poor.
Im sat in room 125 now - its very small/narrow. The toilet was unflushed when we arrived and it stunk. The shower curtain is mouldy, the towel rail doesnt work, wallpaper peeling off the ceiling. Half the TV channels dont work. General maintenance is pretty shoddy.
On a positive note the bed is clean and comfortable, and the carpets appear clean but seriously, this room needs to be used as a broom cupboard not a guest room.
