“Great Spa”

The hotel was in a lovely setting, and looked wonderful. The staff were professional and courteous. Probably being slightly picky,but found the staffing level in the restaurant both at night and for breakfast not to be adequate for the amount of customers. Also a problem with the bedding which you do not expect at a hotel of this quality.

On the plus side, the spa was wonderful. It was exceptionally clean, lovely staff and a large range of facilities- definately worth a 2nd visit

Our first floor room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. The enormous bed was comfortable and ensured a very good night's sleep. The bathroom was well equipped with a powerful shower over the bath and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries.A simple dinner in the main restaurant ( not Marco Pierre White's ) was good and catered for dietary requirements.
We did not sample breakfast ( had a long journey home on the day of the forecast storm ) but appreciated the warm cookie on arrival and the gluten- and dairy-free version which were most welcome !

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel so very quiet despite large groups present in the evening

Told the hotel it was me and my girlfriends 2 year anniversary to which they gave us a complimentary cake and were absolutely lovely with us. Actually proposed to my girlfriend in the room and she said yes. Not claiming it was the room that swung it for me but it didn't harm my chances because the room was absolutely amazing! The best thing was the size of the bed, absolutely enormous! The room was lovely, extremely clean and had a great bathroom with brilliant shower. Can't wait to go there again!

We stayed here because it was close cheshire oaks shopping centre. It had a spa and pool which was great to do after our shopping trip. The pool was very nice and rooms comfortable. I would stay here again.

Doubletree Hilton sets a certain expectation. On this trip, mine were not met. The housekeeping staff was very loud as they worked amongst themselves, creating general disturbance within the rooms. Additionally, on every visit, they would miss at least one amenity. Need to review all staff.

We stayed here in 2010 and were very impressed. We decided to return for 5 nights for a special birthday. Upgraded to a suite as a treat but it was so disappointing. The room was dirty when we arrived and the cleaning was poor during the 5 day stay. A previous guest had written 'no good' on the bathroom mirror. The words were still there when we left and probably still are. The side of the bath was dirty and stayed dirty the whole time. The back of the bathroom door and room door filthy. Crumbs on the desk chair remained all week. The tv needed a clean. Dirty finger prints. The bedside lights covered in dust and the floor by the bed. The cleanliness in the brasserie where we took breakfast was also poor. The chairs are stained and food by the radiator was there or 3 days. On 2 mornings the plates were dirty. Breakfast was average. The plates were not heated on 3 of the 5 mornings. The tables were not cleared quickly. Tea and coffee in the room was not replaced every day. We did not eat in the hotel in the evening because it was too dirty. Our room was tatty. Insufficient space for clothing and not enough hangers.
On the up side the bed was very comfortable.
The room was cold because the heating only worked when your key was in the room. I was refused access to the spa because I had left the key in our room with my husband. He needed light and heating. Eventually I was given a second key but as I was already so upset about our stay, this felt like the final straw.
I left my comments when I left the hotel but there has been no explanation for the poor experience. Still I will never forget my birthday but or all the wrong reasons!

Room Tip: Don't accept room 19 it was dire!

Me and my NEW husband had our Wedding at the Doubletree on Saturday 9th November in the Abbey Suite. From start to finish it was everything we could of wished for.
Eric was our dedicated toastmaster for the day, he and is team were outstanding! The food was amazing both in the day and evening. Our guests gave great feedback about the quality of food and they said 'The staff have done you proud'
They all made us feel special and I truly had the most amazing day thanks to the brilliant staff.
We cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are looking for a Wedding venue or for a break away.
Thanks once again to all the staff at the Doubletree who helped in giving me my dream Wedding.
