We stayed here after my son's wedding reception which was held at the hotel. We thought the hotel was exceptional - attention to detail, lay out, facilities, comfort, breakfast ...all excellent. It's a great place for a wedding reception as well. Can't recommend it highly enough. The only gripe one of our party had was that the gym wsn't open at 7.15 am on Sunday when they went to use it., but that's not really a serious complaint!

I stayed in this hotel for a total of over 5 weeks in 2 trips between mid-May and mid-July.
Service is very variable. Concierge/porter staff are all fantastic - very helpful, pleasant & knowledgeable - esp Terry & Nigel.
Reception staff seem over-worked & not particularly experienced - so when they were less busy, service was pretty good & very friendly (esp Roula) - when busy, it was extremely slow & ineffective.
Similarly in the main restaurant for breakfast & occasional dinner - during the week, breakfasts were good, esp when Mo was in charge & Karen was on duty serving. At the weekends, staff were overrun by wedding guests, and the restaurant was chaotic & service variable. In the evenings, service was generally poor - slow & poor attitude. Dinner was OK in the main restaurant, but of a high standard in the Marco Pierre Grill (although with prices to match).
First hotel I've ever been to anywhere in the world (at least of 4-star standard) where they were unable to provide face-cloths in the rooms - apparently "for hygiene reasons"!
Upper floors & rooms were too hot, and air-conditioning very unreliable - broke down during my first stay.
Finally a quick comment on the amenities. General feeling was that services were being run with more attention paid to staff's working hours than customers' needs. Lovely spa & gym, but should be open earlier than 06:30 in the week, and 08:00 at the weekends. Similarly breakfast should start earlier i.e. by at least 06:30 in the week, instead of 07:00.
I have fedback to the Hotel, and hope they will pass on my complimentary comments to the staff I was pleased with, and work on some of their potentially systemic/ organisational shortcomings to improve the standard & consistency of their already pretty good service & facilities overall.

Stayed at the hotel on saturday night. My friend and I wanted to combine a bit of relaxation with a night out in Chester and some shopping. I belive we found the perfect combination. The stafff at the hotel were lovely and extremly welcoming. We were grated with a large chocolate chip cookie on our arrival. The hotel was bright, clean and modern with a feeling of warmth about it. The spa was a real treat. The whole experinece was spot on. I would certainly recommend this hoteal to friends and family.

Stayed for a couple of nights on a good room only deal. The hotel is very modern and funky which we liked. The rooms are an ok size with a huge bed and tv only negative was problems logging onto internet. We ate one night at MPW restaurant which was nice but a little bit overpriced for standard of food. The second night we ate at Simon Radley restaurant in Chester which was fantastic.
The Spa pool was a little disappointing as it is underground so no natural light and very dark. The pool is very narrow so if people in doing lengths not much space. The outside hydrothrapy pool is nice, a bit like been in a bottom of a well as walls are 20 ft high but unfortunatly there is no outside area to sit out in which is a shame as it was a lovely sunny day.So if you want to sit out and enjoy the sun you have to get dressed and go to the hotel bar which has a great outdoor terrace.

We have just come back from a two night stay at this hotel and it was fab! We had two under 5's with us and even though the hotel's huge up side is the spa and relaxing surroundings, the kids had a great time.

Service was fantastic, nothing was too much for the staff! Swimming pool was well maintained and easy to access - kids went in twice a day!

Good breakfast selecvtion - even cater for vegetarians upon request.

We visisted chester zoo while here and the hotel were able to provide cheaper tickets too!
