We stayed here the night before the wedding of our friends at Peckforton Castle. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, evening meal and breakfast at the inn. Quite honestly we wish we had stayed here on the evening of the wedding rather than the castle!
My partner was best man at the wedding and the staff allowed me to print off his speech after making some alterations, along with the grooms speech which he had typed that morning.
We are still struggling to work out why we only paid £75 for one night bed and breakfast and our friends staying in the room above us paid £105...

Room Tip: We had a room with a view, I understand some do not.

It is many years since we ate here WHY oh Why oh Why, We were visiting the Cheshire Farm playground with our granddaughter and decided to have a break, so drove over from there only 10minutes away. The staff were very nice indeed, friendly and pleasant. The food could not be faulted, absolutely delicious, and the service excellent. It is a child friendly pub,and our four year old also enjoyed herself. We have already recommended it to our other daughter as it is also dog friendly, dogs allowed in the bar area, and I shall be suggesting a visit with my ladies who lunch. We won't leave it so long next time . Keep up the good work, I think you deserve Cheshire dining pub of the year award

Room Tip: We only lunched here this section only seems to have to ratings for the B & B section

This was our first time at the Phesant Inn via a recommendation from a friend who had previously stayed here. We stayed here for 1 night and it was beautiful. I would have given this 5 stars but I do have a few niggles.....

Good points:

- Beautiful location with lovely views across the countryside
- The staff were very effiicient, pleasant and attentive
- The room was very clean and the bed large and comfortable
- The food was beautiful with lots of choice and cooked to perfection
- A choice of quality wine and beer

Niggle points:

- The room we stayed in was called 'Delemere' and had a dripping shower which interupted our sleep after such a lovely meal in the pub/restuarant
- The room doesn't appear to have any sound proofing as we could hear noise from next door and the room above, we could actually hear what they were watching on the TV and a barking dog
- The drinks were very over priced but I guess you are paying for the surroundings. For example; a pint of Lowenbrau was £4.30 and a large glass of white Sauvignon was £7.80 and £1.50 for a packet of crisps!
- They also add VAT to your overall bill

Given the overall cost as a whole to spend the night here, one would expect these niggle points to be addressed.

However, I would stay here again but in a quieter room.

Overall, a beautiful secret place to stay for a romantic break.

We have been going to the Pheasant for about 10 years. We love it, it is lovely inside and the view is amazing. It looks out over the Cheshire plain. the food is great, if you go before 6 o'clock you can eat a light bite which is so reasonably priced and delicious. We have always found the staff very nice, even though we have seen a lot staff changes over the years. The owner is a very nice man, and I think he chooses the staff very carefully. Someone said it is a jewel in the crown of Cheshire, that is a good description, spot on.
Sorry clicked fitness centre by mistake, it does not have one.

We stayed with friends earlier this month. From start to finish, everything was just perfect from the service, to the food, to the room, to the decor, to the breakfast!!
Will definitely be going back.

If you're idea of a perfect Sunday is to go for a brisk country walk , take in some stunning views of the Cheshire countryside followed by an amazing Sunday roast with a glass of superb wine then The Pheasant at Burwardsley is a MUST DO! The roast dinner here yesterday was absolutely excellent with Yorkshire puddings to die for - so too was the sticky toffee pudding! l took my 7 year old son and some friends on a lovely walk along the Sandstone Trail followed by this fabulous meal at The Pheasant Inn...so glad we booked as the place was bursting at the seems! The weather was glorious yesterday but part of me wished it hadn't been just so l could experience the many open fires within. Even though it was a full house the service was first class and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Even the manager came over to introduce herself and ask us if everything was to our liking. Well done to Laura Lautrette and her team at this very special place...see you all again very soon!
