“Excellent New Year at New Blossoms Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2012

Had a great stay at wonderful 4 star New Blossoms Hotel, everything was perfect for us, the staff very attentive and welcoming. Asked for a quiet room at the back ( room 202) as I had read about the noise, we had no problem with noise at all and considering it was New Years Eve we never heard a sound. The room was beautiful, spotless clean and wonderful decor, bathroom was a good size and gorgeous, no problems with the shower or water which i had read about. The room was a little hot but we just turned off the radiator. The bed was gorgeous, really comfortable. Every amenity was provised, tea, coffee even a teapot, hairdyer and iron.

The reception area was wonderfully decorated for christmas with an beautiful tree and garlands around the old wooden staircase, I loved the atmosphere, and its one of the oldest hotels in Chester.

We booked an evening meal and were pleasantly suprised that we had 25 pound each to spend instead of the booked 15 pound. The food was wonderful and restaurant great, staff very attentive and charming.

Breakfast also was excellent a fabulous array of cereals, pastries, fruits, compotes everything you could want, and then on top of that an amazing cooked breakfast ( if you can manage it) We could not ask for more !

Overall an absolutely fabulous New Year in Chester and wonderful staff, I would heartily recommend and certainly hope to be back.

Can fully understand about the car parking problem, but that can only be expected at a city center hotel, and the Gosvenor car park is not that far.

The old Tudor pub next door, to the left, The Marloborough Arms is definitely worth a visit

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back for a quiet night

Fantastic building, staff are great. Breakfast was spot on.

Shower was weak. A bit like being squirted occasionally with a water pistol.

Having to pay for wi-fi was an annoyance.

Chester is a lovely town and we often visit the place, (living just half an hours drive away in North Wales) but we decided to get a train and stay over night. This Hotel is right in the middle of Chester and there was a bus outside the train station that took us to a street really close so we didn't have far to carry our luggage. Lovely quaint rooms and plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Would definately sty here again.

We got a good deal with this hotel, which included a meal with wine. Food was very good, breakfast was great, cooked fresh for you, also room was very spacious and bed huge. Will definetly use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Room 206 was at back of hotel, so no noise from main street

This hotel is a great place to stay if you want to shop and have a night out in Chester. The staf are very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey but this is reflected in the excellent food, although the menu limited.
Breakfast is very good and the staff ensure that tables are cleared and places set again as soon as they are vacated making for a pleasant environment to eat.
All in all a great place to stay for one of the best shopping cities in the UK and so picturesque. Chester also has some of the best street entertainment as well

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may be a little noisy a there is a popular pub and night club nearby. Don't...

visited in october lots of problems gave my mum anchovies in her salad knowing she is a strict vegetarian then offered bread as a alternative starter. The bread was covered in blue mould and was clearly days out of date after a lot of fuss offered us a free return visit of our choice only to find 48hrs before had,nt booked us in so had to stay where they had room for us which was a sister hotel in the middle of nowhere. Paola the hotel manager let us down badly and the area manager stephanie hocking made nothing but excuses for her staff when there is no excuse for how we have been treated just cannot compete with marriot and hilton and a travelodge would give them a run for there money :(

Poor experience on arriving for early check in, but sorted out eventually. Hotel was built in late 19th century so comes with some atmosphere but poor plumbing so don't expect a power shower. Well located, but noisy if you have a room over nightclub entrance/exit. Breakfast was OK. Booked the room early, so value was pretty good. No parking though, which is a bit of a pain(£10 for 24hrs in nearby public car park).

Room Tip: ask for room not overlooking night club entrance
