“Good location, that's about it”

Stayed as part of a tour. Bit of a shambles checking in with bags noted with one room number and us with another room number. That was sorted out quickly but tersely. It was quite cold in the hotel room but when we asked how to work the heating we were informed that we should realise that it is nearly summer in England and the heaters have been turned off and that if we get cold there's a little fan heater in the wardrobe. All these things are pretty minor if the room wasn't so small, cold and badly laded out. To get in the shower we had to climb around to toilet as the shower screen opened the wrong way. There was a water stain on the roof and it just wasn't a pleasant place to stay for two nights.

The hotel is in an excellent location in that it is in the centre of town. I would look elsewhere.

Without doubt Blossoms scores very highly for location, which can not be bettered for exploring Chester, once you are installed ! Car parking at £9.00 a day is to be added on, some 10 minutes away. As has been mentioned if the weather is warm then stuffiness prevails throughout. No air con, just not good enough for a city centre hotel. The King Size bed room we chose on a two night package was fine incl One evening meal and a trip to Chester Zoo and of course a satisfying breakfast so value for money, I think it was. They tell us that they are installing free easy to use Wifi. Not before time I would have thought. Our evening meal for the large party we were, gave the staff some problems and without Leigh the Bar manager, a recent recruit to the Staff, it might have been a disaster, well done to him for rescuing my sanity. When it did arrive however, it was good and well presented . Decor of the entrance hall and dining areas generally a tad dismal really needs a refit and lightening up. But if you are wanting to get to know Chester and want to be comfortably central, Blossoms could well be for you.

Stayed sat/sun very nice room overlooking main street! Welcome note left on bed also
cake and welcome message on table! Huge bed and room was big enough to move in - bathroom
long and narrow, but not tiny. Heated towel rail, which you turn on and off yourself, it does get
very not but there is a warning sign, so we were prepared! Breakfast has very good selection, I didn't think bacon was cooked enough, but my husband liked his! We ate dinner on Saturday evening we prepaid for £30 and got £50 worth of food, doing it this way made it worth the money otherwise I think it was probably overpriced for dinner.
Hotel staff very nice, hotel has charm and is brilliant location, obviously being in the city centre there was plenty of noise into the early hours, however this did not affect our stay.
Would stay here again.

This hotel is in an incredibly central location, it makes a very nice change. We stayed in an executive room, it was nicely furnished, and we bagged a room overlooking the main shopping street. Some of the reviews suggest the standard rooms are quite small, so it might be worth paying the extra for the executive room. The room was clean.
The bar is nice enough, but it could probably do with a larger main hotel lounge, its quite small.
Breakfast was good. We ate in the main restaurant one night- if you are getting the "prepay £15, get £25 meal allowance" then its good value.....but my wifes starter was tiny, and so was her dessert (and the dessert was very poor)
We would stay again, but we would want an executive room on main street
Little niggles......you used to get decent bottles of mineral water in your room...now its just Macdonalds filtered tap water....this takes the mick a bit. It can get a bit noisy on a sat night, due to clubs etc.
People have grumbled about the tiny lift....yes it is small, but its a grand old building, its not easy to change that.
Overall a good hotel.

The best part about the hotel is by far the location, right in the city centre and perfect for exploring Chester. The hotel it's self is very nicely decorated and the room is a good size and comfortable. We did not eat in the hotel so I cannot comment on the food. We got a good deal on laterooms.com however we would not have stayed here otherwise as it was far too over priced.

Stayed only one night (26/06/13) on a fleeting trip as a tourist in Chester. My package included breakfast. The room was clean, the bathroom new and very nice.
The service in the bar by their new Barman, Lee, was excellent, he was the host with the most.
The service elsewhere in the hotel leaves a lot to be desired especially during breakfast service. It took ages for coffee to arrive and even longer for food to arrive.
Small things were overlooked like the TV had been unplugged by Housekeeping and not plugged back in so I spent time finding out why the TV didn't work. Unnecessary!
There is NO free WiFi in the hotel at all. They charge their guests £10.00 to connect in the lounge and bar.
There is only one lift in the hotel which barely takes three people or one person with a large suitcase. This lift is used by Housekeeping too so you can wait for a long time for a lift. Really frustrating if you need to checkout quickly.

If you are aware of that the hotel is an old English bulding with that kind of charm - this is a nice place to stay.

Did stay in room 213 for 145 GBP. Nice and big room, with three windos and a lot of space. Just remember that the hotel doesn´t have any airconditioning, could be hot during the summer.

The hotel is situated in the middle of the city, short walk to everything. And friendly staff at the reception.
