“Great value”
Reviewed 18 April 2013

There is no doubt that B&Bs in Chester are as hit and miss as the Trip Advisor reviews suggest (having recently visited with a group of 30 who were spread out across nearly as many different venues) so I'm pleased to say that the Chester Court Hotel is absolutely in the 'hit' category. It was extremely comfortable and clean and I was particularly touched by the genuine warmth and friendliness of every staff member I came into contact with. The cooked breakfast is a good few notches above what you'd normally expect at a 2*. It's a minor hike into town, so just prepare for that - but at a pace it's 20-25 mins or I would guess a return cab fare on top of the room rate will probably be a saving compared with staying in the overpriced centre.

After selling our property we found ourselves in need of accommodation until we completed on our new property. We booked The Chester Court Hotel online for four nights for ourselves and our son hoping that was all we needed. We arrived on Tuesday but by Thursday realised we needed to extend our stay further. Unfortunately the hotel was full for Saturday night as were nearly all other hotels in the Chester and North Wales area partly due to the race meeting at Aintree and partly because it was Saturday. We asked at reception if they were still booked up but luckily they had a cancellation and did their best to juggle things around so that we could stay in our room and our son was able to sleep in our room on the sofa bed. The staff really did their best to accommodate us at this really stressful time. As for the hotel itself the rooms are excellent. We had room 18 which is in the courtyard, it was spotlessly clean a good size and very warm with adjustable control of the radiators which is good. The staff are very efficient and friendly but professional too. Nothing was too much trouble. As for the breakfast it was one of the best we have ever had in this country. Beautiful bacon and eggs, everything was spot on including the service. We are still here after seven nights waiting for a completion date, thankfully we are being very well looked after. THANK YOU AND WELL DONE.

Room Tip: Room 4 was an excellent single room in the main hotel. Room 18 was in an excellent position in the...

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Clean rooms, excellent breakfast and lovely communal areas. The staff were more than happy to help and went above and beyond any request we had.

If you want a super modern top of the range hotel go somewhere else but if you want a clean, friendly and personal hotel then this the place to stay.

I decided to surprise my boyfriend with a meal in Chester at his favourite Smokehouse (Hickorys) and book a hotel to enable us to both drink (we were driving from Stoke on Trent). I found this room on a last minute website with breakfast included in the price. I have to say I read a few reviews shortly after booking which made me think oops. However from the minute we got there to the minute we left we were very pleased. Lovely room in an outside courtyard - shower was a little noisy and we could hear the neighbours but this didn’t bother us as we were up already for breakfast. Breakfast was lovely, staff were very lovely and we would most definitely stay again. We stayed on the 1st of March 2013.

Came to chester, uk for a friends wedding via London. Stayed at this little gem, really great staff and so enjoyed the beautiful city of chester. Ashame it was so rushed, wish we had booked two nights. really hope we come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2 suite, and my son had a single next door which was a smaller room but very cute.

I really loved this hotel too. Weather was so horrible, had a rubbish journey, all stressed if we would make it in time for the wedding. Loads of delays and it just felt so nice stepping in. Warm, comfortable and would i just say to the staff thank you so much for looking after us. You helped us over and above. thankyou.
