“Take away”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

Had a very poor takeaway from Cafe Naj on Saturday 23rd Nov 2013. I had a King Prawn Curry. The sauce was very thin with only a few prawns in. My husband had a Passandra which was equally thin. Tasteless. Very disappointed.

“A great place to go.......”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

I've known of this Indian restaurant for some time now but had never visited. The welcome was lovely and the staff very attentive at all times. The food was on time and absolutely delicious. We both had Balti dishes for our main, one chicken tikka and the other a lamb, and they were better than we could have imagined. There was plenty of meat and both served with free nan breads.
2 starters, 2 mains and drinks for only £30 all in - bargain!
I highly recommend a visit

“Friendly restaurant with good service and superb food”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Café Naj was walking distance from our hotel Stone Villa, so we called in for dinner.
In spite of what one reviewer has written, the service was excellent with a very friendly and attentive waiter.

I had the best Indian dish I have ever had, it was Lamb Pudina Shibpuri. First time I've seen that on a menu.

The Nan bread was fresh and crispy just the way we like them.

Couldn't fault anything about the place, the food or the staff.

We will definitely go back next time we're in Chester and I'm going to be looking for Pudina Shibpuri whenever I visit any Indian restaurant now.

“Not worth the wait!”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Having recently moved to chester and on reading the other reviews, I was looking forward to a decent curry. Unfortunately our experience was not good!
The service on the night our party of 5 visited was poor and the food (being generous) was average. We booked our table in advance having been advised by others that seating is limited. Having arrived on time we ordered our drinks and shortly after made our order 3 starters, 2 veg mains, 3 chicken mains, rice and garlic naan. This is when the wait began! After 45 mins of ordering there was still no sign of our starters I approached the waiter who advised that the these would be ready in 10 mins. 30 mins later we were still waiting, having alerted the waiter to this he smiled and turned away to console another hungry party. It was apparent that the other two tables who had arrived before us had still not been served. The waiting process continued until eventually after almost 2 hours of ordering and with no apologise our starters arrived, by this time most of the restaurants customers had fossilised, little did we know that the night had only just begun! After finishing our starters another 45 mins was to go by whilst we waited for the microwave to nuke the rest of our order. The food was of average quality, the chicken in all salty dishes was dry and the aloo gobi resembled baby food. If you ever have the misfortune of going to this restaurant take some snacks a pressure relieving cushion and ensure you have the next day off work!

“Fantastic restaurant with wonderful staff and delicious food”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Cafe Naj is easily one of the best restaurants in Chester. They have a wonderful menu offering great Bangladeshi cuisine. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is great value for money. If you're in Chester and need a good curry, this place is a must!
