We booked the vintage tour via the tourist office yesterday and although they told us the tour was going to leave at 10.00am, the bus started to move at 10.20am. It only took 20 minutes to complete the tour instead of the 40-45 minutes that we were told and it was very disappointed. The bus in a whole was nice with very friendly driver and guide but if I am back to Chester, I won't take the tour again. At the tourist office, they told us to take the bus at 10.00am as it was hired for private functions after but at 11.00am, they had tourists waiting to do the tour, wrong information given to us by the tourist office as I would prefer the 11.00am!!!

Much more fun to see Chester on an old bus than on one of the modern double deckers! The tour guide, although a little annoying/too personal at times with the tourists (me and the other half included!), did have some gems of info and interesting facts about the city. This is a cheap way of seeing the sights - well worth the money (£13 for two adults) and a pleasant way of passing 45 minutes or so.

A really old but comfortable open top bus operated expertly by a friendly and efficient couple
is a really good way to see the very best parts of Chester and learn a lot doing so.
Highly recommended - don't miss it!

Very interesting and funny description of some of the history of Chester from a open topped bus, enabling a further visit to some of the attractions later on during the day at a more leisurely pace
