Description: Fabulous pub food produced in a great British, traditional, friendly and inviting surroundings. The award winning kitchen is a hive of creativity where the venue's passionate, talented, and creative Head Chef, along with the rest of the dedicated team, work their magic as they cook freshly prepared, and locally sourced meat, fish, veg and dairy products, as well as freshly baked artisan breads. The seasonally changing, modern Great British-Style menu's, are the epiphany of today's "gastro-style" pub restaurants, but along with a sense of the "home-comforts", often contain that "twist" on tradition, as well as flavours and variants on recipes from all over the World.

Have eaten here on 3 occassions since it opened in June and tried something different on each occasion, the chefs special board takes some beating and the sea bass is certainly my favourite.Going back 3 times says how much we have enjoyed the whole expierence.
The atmosphere and general layout of the retaurant is excellent along with the politeness and service of the staff.
We have recommended to friends and family who have all visited and not been disapointed

We had a great time at The Greyhound on friday, loved the atmosphere found the staff polite and friendly and as for the food some of the best we have had in a long time. The tapas was so inventive, loved the whitebait not found it on any other menu in chester. What can we say about the main course except fabulous, liked that most of food was locally sourced. Good selection of wine on the list. Will definatley be going back and taking the family with us.

we visited the greyhound on reccomendation from friends.we went to one of the new tea for tuesday evenings. American night!! all i can say is wow! the food was excellent and there was sooo much of it we coulndt move which in my boyfriends eyes is a thumbs up! for £12.95 and 3 courses you can not go wrong! they even had little american flags in the burgers which was a nice touch! the staff were very busy as the restaurant had a buzzing atmosphere but were very assertive and always on hand! we will be going back especially to try the british style tapas i have heard so much about and my boyfriend has his eye on the 24oz ribeye!!

Visited with family to celebrate a birthday, on entering there was an excellent atmosphere, and was looking forward to the evening. This was as good as it got, bar staff were rude, and were slow, and the food was luke warm and tasteless. After reading an article in the standard, we were expecting something special, with the chef being an ex employee of Gorden Ramsey. Would not recomend this place, nor would i return. Can get much better else where.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your experience at my establishment, myself and Mike the ex Ramsey employee, own this business together and this is our first business venture after working in this industry for many years. We are very passionate about what we are trying to achieve at The greyhound Inn at Saughall and alongside our team we like to believe we are on the correct road to giving the community of Saughall and Chester something to be proud of. Unfortunately you have experienced a not so perfect trip to our restaurant and as far as myself, Mike and our management team are concerned that is just simply not good enough, everything we have put in place and work on with our team on a day to day basis was not apparent in your visit. I hope you can trust that with my passion for what the Greyhound Inn is trying to be that your points will be taken completely on board and reviewed with great detail so that these same experiances will not happen again.

Many Thanks

Tom Hughes

From planning to the event itself, all the members of staff provided an exceptional level of service. And we had very positive comments from our guests about the food provided. We're lucky to have this facility in the village, especially as they support local events.
