Stayed here while on a stag do, so had a twin room.

Checked in with the very bubbly receptionist who was joking with us all through the check in process (in a professional manner). The room was fine, though there was a smell akin to a hospital ward (clean but a bit overpowering). The reception team couldn't do enough for us.

The beds were standard Holiday Inn beds, so comfortable and slept quite well. The only drawback was the bathroom was well in need of an upgrade, with the shower flooding the bathroom when it was used.

All in all a good night.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the ground floor.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your four star rating, we do appreciate you taking the time to complete the review.

Chester is a fantastic location for Stag & Hen parties, I'm sure the late night bar was a benefit when returning from your night on the town.

We trust the Groom enjoyed the break, and wish him and his Bride all the best.

Kind regards

We used this hotel for our trip to Chester Zoo. We got the zoo tickets as part of a package from the hotel itself for a family of four. The hotel is less than 10 mins drive away from Chester Zoo and it was pleasantly surprising. Our room had a double bed, a single bed and a small sofa bed with enough space to move. The room was basic but very clean and tidy, the bar area is nice which leads onto a very well kept courtyard garden. This hotel has its own leisure facilities, so after a long day out my husband and young son used the swimming pool and jacuzzi area where there were plenty of fresh towels available, so only swimming costumes needed. Breakfast the following morning was a little busy but all in all it was fine, plenty to choose from including a pancake machine!! I would definitely reccomend ths hotel for an overnight stay if visiting Chester or the Zoo.

The Holiday Inn was ideally located for our family catch up on 6th April. We arranged a table for 12 in the restaurant for an evening meal which included adults, child, toddler and heavily pregnant mum-to-be. The food was lovely and the staff Chelsey and Deyonte could not have been more pleasant and helpful. By contrast the manager or supervisor was too keen to clear away at 8.30 pm to get set up for breakfast - which given the value of the food and drinks bill on a quiet Sunday night was less than gracious from a customer perspective.

Many thanks
The Reid family

We stayed here for a night before visiting Chester Zoo which is about 10 minutes away. Very friendly staff on reception on our arrival. We are a family with a 9 year old boy and a 5 month old baby and the rooms are great in size, even with a pram and all the baby stuff we had. We went for a swim in the afternoon, and the pool was very warm for our little fella's first time in a pool. We then had a drink in the relaxed bar area before getting changed for dinner. The 3 course meal was of a great standard and very pleasant staff. At night we relaxed in the room watching telly with the blackout shutters ensuring we had a great sleep. In the morning we had another swim, before going for breakfast, which was a buffet style help yourself full english, which was again great food. We really enjoyed our stay so much, we booked again for August when we returned home. Thankyou for a great value and pleasant break. See you in August :)

Room Tip: All rooms are away from the main road.

Just back from a 3 night stay at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our short break here. Only a short distance from Chester , there is a apparently a regular bus service , if you do not wish to drive , but we got a taxi in for around £7. The zoo is only about a fifteen minute drive also. The hotel itself does not look much from the outside bit inside is nice and modern. Check in was quick easy and informative. We stayed in a family room with double bed and sofa bed , the single sofa bed was a little small for our fourteen year old , but adequate for 3 nights. The rest of the room was spacious , clean , plenty of storage and the main bed very comfy. The bathroom was a little dated in comparison to the rest of the room but more than acceptable.
Breakfast each morning was good and well organised , we ate there two evenings also , once in the bar , where bar meals were served, but we had the help your self Mexican Buffet which was on that night ( the previous night had been an Indian ) and this was very good. The next evening we ate in the restaurant as there was an offer for 2 courses and 2 drinks for £20 this was extremely good. We found the all the staff we encountered from the front desk , bar & restaurant to very be friendly and efficient at all times.
We also bought our zoo tickets from the hotel , cheaper than on the day prices at the zoo and saves queuing on arrival.
All in all very enjoyable stay , good location to use as a base for Chester area , would definitely recommend .

My family and I stayed here for two nights over the Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff on our arrival were very friendly and professional and booking in was very smooth. As my children are a little older we had adjoining rooms with an interconnecting door, both rooms were very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good with a good selection for both adults and children (pancake maker for the kids which was very popular). The hotel is in a good location with only a short taxi drive into the town centre (allowing everyone to enjoy a night on the town). I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Wouldn't stay here again. I had one night over the Easter bank holiday. The room was not clean, socks and tshirt left on the floor. A staff member bumped my son with a trolley full of linen without even saying sorry, front desk were useless when I told them.

Disappointed.
