“Nice room”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 via mobile

Arrived early and were lucky to have an early check-in. Parking was free with ample space. Starbucks served at the bar was a bonus! Our family room had a double bed, single bed and a pull out sofa bed. The room was clean, big bathroom and well maintained. Taxi was booked easily by our receptionist. Only downside was a blood stained duvet, which was immediately dealt with.

I stayed here for a 5 days on a work trip to Chester and I can truly say that the staff went out of their way to cater for me. As I am a muslim I asked the manager of the restaurant if the meat was halal just on the off chance it might of been. They said no so I was expecting him to recommend me some vegetarian dishes like most other hotels normally do. I was extremely impressed when the next day the manager calls me up and told me that he has got some halal meat in which they used for all my food. With service like that I am definitely staying here again!!!

As others have said, the building is 70's/80's style and located on the outskirts of Chester.

Myself and friends stayed here for the Chester races. Due to it being a busy weekend, the price was quite expensive at over £100 per room each night. They do appear to have weekend offers so it should be possible to obtain a decent rate at other times.

The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable with modern flatscreen TV. The hotel corridors are a bit of a maze!

The reception and restaurant staff were all really friendly and helpful. They offer a "meal deal" in the restaurant - two courses plus two drinks for £20 which we felt was fair value. If you buy breakfast the night before, it is offered at a discounted rate of £10.95. There was a very wide choice available.

There was a leisure club/pool but we did not have the chance to use it.

Overall, there were no complaints from our group.

Room Tip: All IHG reward members receive free wi-fi. You can sign up on the day.

This is my second visit here, having first stayed for a long weekend two years ago. Had I not found the hotel good I would not have returned.

This was a two night Superbreak stay including dinner on the first night.

The hotel is just off the motorway but there is a public bus stop just outside the hotel and also Park & Ride nearby.

The hotel looks uninspiring from the outside and the entrance/reception area is a little bland but that is a minor point.

The rooms are functional and clean with tea and coffee and flat screen TV's with a good, but not full, selection of Freeview channels. Wifi is not free which is very disappointing but as a H.I Priority Club member I did get free access. I think it would be an added bonus if it was free to all and I doubt would cost the hotel anything.

Dinner is served in the restaurant on the first floor with views looking towards the hills of Wales. A good choice and nicely presented - highly recommended. Breakfast was the usual buffet with good choice of greek yoghurt and fruit and the usual cooked options. You could order poached eggs.

All in all we got great value and will return. We did not use the hotel as a base for Chester. We visited North Wales and also the Wirral area, Port Sunlight which is only 30 mins by car from the hotel. Anyone wanting to use the train could catch Mersey Rail from Chester and this offers a good, frequent service

This is a 70s/80s designed building on the outskirts of Chester, easily found located near the motorway and within easy access to Chester town centre (taxi £6), with lots of car parking space.

The building is well maintained and although tired in certain areas it was kept very clean. Check in was straightforward with very friendly staff who go that extra mile to help, in my case providing printed directions to a family occasion that was happening the next day. Rooms are what you would expect, modern with all the require facilities, bedroom was very nice but the bathroom showed signs of aging, all was spotless and clean and the aging was not a big issue. Had a great night’s sleep with little / no noise 

The bar was a bit pricy and if you are adding drinks to the room the bar staff add a gratuity charge which you need to ask to have removed, again bar staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a meal in the restaurant and the quality of food and service was excellent, strangely no gratuity charge is added to meals. Breakfast was superb with a wide selection for all tastes and cultures.

Its the people/staff that make this hotel great, I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed overnight on weekend trip to Chester. Yes there had been a wedding, yes there were children having a good time and yes, it was quite busy BUT the staff were brilliant, really polite and helpful, the room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. Well done.

Room Tip: I was on the third floor and didn't hear a thing.
