I do not know how this is a 4 star hotel?
thread bear or duct tape repairs to carpets, restaurant closed for 3 months for refurbishment. Tape also blanked out part of the Spa signs! New ownership?

3 lights not working in room. No TV control in a hotel that has gone paperless for information. Also the information did not include menus, just opening times.

However, the breakfast was good plus the staff were very helpful, and cannot be criticised.

Stopped here on a short break in Chester and it was very pleasant, staff all very good would recommend and stay again great hotel good location. Had our 7month old baby with us too and they provided a travel cot, also put us in an end room just in case he was awake all night so we didn't disturb other guests, the bed and sheets are so comfy and warm.

We stayed here one night. The room was clean but very small. Adequate for a single night stay but not longer. The bathroom was clean. Room service was efficient and the buffet breakfast was good. It was fine for what we needed but hardly a luxury.

Me and my wife stayed here for two nights saturday and sunday. We arrived to a big car park and the hotel looks good from the outside. We went inside to check in, we checked in later than we normally would about 6ish.Anyway very close to reception is the bar area with a big screen which had the football on.It was very busy almost chaotic but it was saturday night so we didn't think too much of it.We walked to our room which was on the bottom floor and when we went in we was horrified it was small and dark and there was noice coming from everywhere. The walls are paper thin and we could hear people arguing from other rooms and people constantly walking up and down the corridor and kids everywhere running riot, it was a hell hole.We put the tv on to try and drown out the noice but the tv was unresponsive and slow.We considered taking our things and checking straight back out but instead we explained the situation to the girl on reception and to her credit she was understanding and most helpful and found us another room which was much much quieter and bigger and brighter too and the tv worked properly! This saved me giving this hotel a bad rating as we enjoyed our stay in the new room.We ordered room service which took just short of an hour to come not too bad.The food was very nice but we didnt eat here the 2nd night because in my opinion the price of food and drink at this hotel is too high.I think maybe they feel they can justify the high prices cos its a four star hotel but its only the hotel features like the swimming pool which allows this hotel to be four star because the rooms are not 4 star quality even the second room we was moved to was no better than what you get at a Premier Inn.Steak and chips here is £20 you can walk 2 minutes down the road and there is a harvester pub where you can buy the same meal for about £14 and the drink prices there are about £2-3 cheaper. On the plus side i can't fault the staff here as every member of staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful.Overall not a bad stay in the end although I would stay at a Premier Inn before here next time cos its quieter and food prices are more reasonable.

I stayed in this hotel for one night. I was very impressed with the hotel, the staff where so helpful. After we booked in we went and found the spa and was impressed by the swimming pool and steam and sauna room, it stayed open until 9pm which I feel is late enough for anyone.
In our room we had plenty of tea, coffee milk etc, the room was bright and airy, warm but not stuffy. The beds where very comfortable.
Thank you for an enjoyable weekend.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 229 it was a studio room as I travelled with my son, it was very quiet so a good ni...

The hotel itself was an ok location about a 45 minute walk from the centre and the room itself was exactly what you pay for, had everything you need and couldn't really fault it. Never had much dealings with the hotel staff during my stay.

However following the stay we had noticed we had left an item of clothing behind around 4 hours after and when i attempted to contact the hotel to see if there was a possibility of retrieving it, i came across an issue of actually speaking to the hotel. the number promoted on the website repeatedly diverts you to the leisure centre even when clearing stating in the options no.4 is leisure centre and no'5 for any other queries when selecting no'5 the man simply stated he works in the leisure centre so is unable to assist but provided me with a different contact number. this number then led me to the exact same problem causing me to speak to the same individual again. He then said he would pass a message to the correct member of staff and took my contact number to phone me back and no such call then happened.
again the next day (24 hours later) i phoned yet again to query and of course went through to the same man working in the leisure centre who apologised and again said he will ensure a member of staff phones me back to which still has not happened.
