Me and my boyfriend stayed here last year for a one night. We had high hopes after seeing the pictures and thinking it was a 4* hotel. However we were very disappointed.
The building itself looked nothing like the pictures, it did however look run down and the main reception area was very dark and dull. The room again was a little run down, with worn carpet and old furniture not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. We went for tea in the hotel and thought that the prices were very expensive for what we got. Later in the evening me and my boyfriend both became ill with what seemed like a sickness bug. I do not blame the hotel and i'm guessing it was air borne (maybe something we picked up off the train journey there). But as you can imagine we didn't really do much else and left early in the next morning. We missed out on breakfast so cannot comment. Personally i think if the hotel had a bit of a makeover and was made more glamorous then it could be classed as a 4* as is set in a nice location with lovely grounds
