had lunch there 22/9/13,although,myself,I don't like guiness,plenty of people do,the atmosphere,was great,
as well as the food, the place was filling up because of a big Irish football match, our friends also agree with
me.

This review has proven to be a real clash of opinions because I really like the Dublin Packet but my wife doesn't! it's a small, friendly pub and a bit of an unusual shape because the main pub/seating area is long and thin. It's a popular place though, and has a smashing lunchtime menu with great offers. The food is tasty and filling, service is good plus the place itself is happy and has that 'old pub feel' to it.
I think MrsE doesn't like it here because it can be a bit rowdy and the sports on TV is somewhat intrusive but then businesses such as this pub need to adapt to survive.
Overall then, it gets a thoroughly good 4 out of 5 from me... but you can read 'er indoors review some other time!

This a small town centre pub with a real "village Inn" feel to it. We had bar snacks and they were served fresh and quickly. The Staff are friendly and the layout and decor are welcoming. If you are in the Chester centre, well worth a visit!.

Went in Wetherspoons in February and left without Lunch because they had forgotten it, tried again on Friday but couldn't get served at the bar so went into the Dublin Packet. Had a lovely sandwich and a couple of lagers (definitely the best we had all weekend) served by friendly staff, will definitely use this pub again on our next visit to Chester.
