I'm not sure if I can really do the hotel and the staff justice with a review. We have had out civil partnership at the Grosvenor this weekend, and we have truly ben bowled over by the professionalism and warmth of all the staff.
From the very first time we arrived at the Grosvenor it was very obvious that it was somewhere we would feel comfortable, we had met with the events coordinator, who went through everything you could possibly think of and then some, without overwhelming us.
The second time we went to 'look around', we went unnanounced. The hotel manager Maurice took time to show us every last possible feature that was available to us despite it being obvious that he was in the midddle of setting up the suite for an event. It really does show that he is very proud of the hotel and especially the oriental gardens.
We have been backwards and forwards to and from the Grosvenor for the past 18 months in total now, a good number of times simply to go for food in the bar or the restaurant, to get a feel for the place and to try our best to feel comfortable there for our big day.
Everytime we have been the welcome has always been the same, whether it has been someone we had already met, or someone we hadn't, and that has been evident for the whole of this weekend too. No matter where we have been, or any of our guests also, the staff, from reception, to the bar and restaurant, the spa, the housekeeping staff and the staff in grosvenor suite have gone out of their way to help. The staff of the Grosvenor really are it's shining crown, and should be very proud of themselves for the wonderful job they do, and certainly have done this weekend.
The meals for our wedding breakfast were fantastic- great portions of 'real' food- it left almost all of our guests stuffed well into the night, so much so that our evening reception food was missed by a fair few of us. We had chosen the large paella to be cooked infront of us, again i can't say enough how fantastic the food was.
A big thank you we also have to say to Alastair, who worked tirelessly with Maurice and all the kitchen, bar and service staff to make our day run so well- even when we disappared for longer than we should, with photographers and to generally catch our breath!
Ok, so the rest... The bedrooms do vary in style, our first night we spent in a standard room which was fine, and we slept as well as could be expected given the day ahead of us. The second night we decided to upgrade to one of the available suites, which to me was absolutely perfect- the style and decor was exactly to mine and my partner's taste, infact if we could have brought it all home with us we would have done! The four post bed was modern, firm but not overly so, and huge! The bathroom had a lovely large bath with tv- didn't quite figure that out in the time we spent there if im honest, a large shower and double sink. I really didn't want to get out of bed!

Room Tip: Pay the little bit extra and go for one of the new suites (numbered 70's)

Arrived after booking through Trip Advisor and they couldn't locate our booking, blaming the booking company, who apparently "go bust all the time", even though I booked it the day before. Waited 20 minutes or so expecting to sleep in the car park before I guess the manager arrived who promptly accepted responsibility and gave us a premier room upgrade and complimentary breakfast. Satisfied we went for a night out in Chester, quite a long way from the hotel as its in a village outside. Upon our return a note had been pushed under the door saying they had found our booking and if we wanted breakfast it was no longer complimentary and would be £30! Needless to say we booked out in the morning minus our breakfast. So overall without all the problems would have been good but based on our experience certainly not perfect, and it is a long way outside Chester.

A very nice hotel set in a lovely location. Great bar and restaurant and the rooms were very clean, modern with everything you need for a nights stay. Didn't get a chance to experience the Spa facilities due to late arrival early departure but would definitely stay again....one for my top list!

We stayed here for one night in April using a Living Social voucher.

As we had such a good deal with the voucher, I thought we would be given an inferior room (I had heard those by the function room were v noisy). But not the case - when we checked in we were given a lovely spacious room (nowhere near the function room!) which could have actually doubled up as a family room as it had a separate living room area.

We had use of the hotels leisure facilities but booked separate treatments (not part of the voucher). Slightly disappointed use of the spa area was not inclusive.

We had a lovely evening meal in Ciros restaurant with free bottle wine (compliments of the voucher) & full English breakfast following morning also as part of the deal.

Overall a relaxing weekend made even better by the great value voucher. Would recommend.

This is a lovely hotel. I have stayed here twice and on both occasions the staff were lovely, the spa was a dream, the food was tasty and it was a comfortable overnight stay. I think the rooms need a bit of upgrading and they're a tad expensive for the quality but they have everything you need, including a good bath/shower and a really comfy bed. I would definitely use this hotel again, no problems.

I have been fortunate enough to spend time at some of the UK’s leading spas and spa resorts over the previous 12 months but I have found that the services and levels of customer service at the delightful Grosvenor Pulford to be truly second to none! Based in the ideal location from which to explore the area with its many attractions and activities, just a few miles out of Chester city centre. The rooms are beautiful and the little touches like the mood lighting and luxurious toiletries serve to further enhance your stay. The food in both the restaurant and bar are excellent and have something for everyone. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea in the spa eatery after receiving our treatments of pedicure and full body massage. We found every member of staff we encountered throughout our 2 day stay from reception staff to waiters in the restaurant and spa staff giving treatments to be friendly, helpful and highly professional in their levels of service and attitude towards customers, I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone! Great for families and a perfect romantic location too, lovely gardens to enjoy and a fabulous atmosphere throughout the hotel! Have stayed here 3 times now and had consistantly exceptional service from booking to checkout! a must if you're planning a stay in Cheshire!

Room Tip: Try rooms 70 - 74 if you want a luxurious romantic night with lots a cool extras from great walk-in...

Second time here in as many weeks and a great experience again. Rooms on both occasions were on the cosy side but had everything we needed. Bathrooms very well fitted with lovely toiletries and a great powerful shower. Food in Nelson's bar is excellent (chips could do with NOT being refried so they are not as hard) but all food is flavoursome and plentiful. Spa and gym are very good too - husband's work permitting, we will return again soon I hope.
