I stayed here recently for a wedding. The hotel is lovely, and the wedding was amazing. It's the perfect venue off a wedding. The rooms are nice but even at a discounted rate we found it to be a little overpriced. Nice decor and the rooms were nice and clean. The best thing was the breakfast which was delicious!

We stayed for one night we found the hotel, pub and grounds lovely and very relaxed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the main attraction in Chester and has some lovely local pubs in the next village close by. A lovely stay and will be back

We booked one night at this hotel as the Grosvenor in Chester was fully booked and were under the impression that this hotel was part of the same group which is not the case. The positive in respect of this hotel is the staff team who were more than helpful in trying to resolve difficulties that we experienced. The grounds of the hotel are also a big plus.
On a not so positive note the rooms are extremely hot, and air conditioning is poor to none existant. Although the manager on duty kindly offered us an alternative room, the first one being un-bearable; it is surprising and in my opinion unnacceptable that a hotel that charges £230 for one night in a superior room is not fully air conditioned.

Despite the stifling heat that seems to be an issue throughout the hotel we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning although not in the summer months unless improvements are made. It would also be an idea to extend breakfast time at weekends...11.00 would be more resaonable that the somewhat early 10.00 finish at present

Room Tip: Ask about air conditioning

We have had a meal and stayed overnight once before which was a good stay with enjoyable food and good service, however this time our stay was slightly different. We attended an engagement party on Friday 11th in the Grosvenor suite. As we had travelled from Wolverhampton we stayed over and had a fabulous time. The ladies on reception were very welcoming and helpful. The suite where the party was held was great as it had a spacious bar area with comfy seating should anyone want to move away from the main room were the disco was but still feel part of it. The tables and decor in the main area of the suite were beautifully decorated and the buffet food was excellent. The staff were polite and professional and the manager was eagerly assisting his staff while still overseeing the event which was pleasing to see. Our bedroom was spotlessley clean, very comfy and modern and the breakfast the following morning was excellent. Unfortunately due to our schedule we were unable to stay and take advantage of the spa which looked wonderful.
Can't wait to stay again and would definately recommend.

The hotel was lovely, the staff their biggest asset, but it wasn't the best 5* Hotel we have stayed at. Our room was the same cost as one in the centre of London, but was very dark and small. Our outlook was the car park next door. The biggest disappointment was there is no tea or coffee facilities in the room, and the cost of two coffee's brought to the room is over £10, a real early morning wakener !!!. We didn't use the fine dining restaurant, mainly because the menu choice was unusual and not to our taste, but the room looked very inviting. We eat in the Brasserie, the food was really good, but the Brasserie itself was the same as on any High Street.

If we visited Chester again we would definitely stay at The Grosvenor purely for the location, it is in the centre of everything and on a nice day, the River Dee is close by to relax for a while.

Room Tip: Don't go when the races are on if you want a better room.

We got married at this hotel on 16th May 2014, and from when we made our initial enquiries last year until the end of the wedding day the staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

Special mention must go to Gail Wagner (Wedding Co-Ordinator) who was always on hand to answer any questions we had and she made the whole booking process and organising the final details effortless.

The day itself was amazing, from start to finish it went without a hitch. Alistair Webb (Assistant Operations Manager / Toastmaster) was fantastic on the day, he was so friendly, professional and ensured the day flowed smoothly.

The food was superb as were the grounds and the hotel itself. The only down side was the size and décor of the standard rooms, they were quite poor in comparison to the recently decorated executive rooms, especially for the price of the rooms.

We have received so many positive comments from our guests, loads have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, they all loved the food, the venue, hotel grounds, how smoothly the day went and the staff. In fact our 8 year old nephew, said "aren't all the staff really friendly".

The night before the wedding I stayed at the hotel along with my all family who travelled up 4 hours from down south, and whilst in the hotel bar, Maurice Cannizzo (Operations Manager) made a point of coming over to chat and to go through what would happen the next day, he also had lots of banter with our 4 and 8 year old nephews. It was these little touches which made it even more special.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, even the weather was great! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa as a wedding venue, it was amazing.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are very small with dated décor and furniture, especially for the price. Executive r...

Came here for my birthday with my family. The food was second to none. I had a beautiful lamb shank with just fell off the bone. It was delicious! Went back a few weeks later and the place still oozed a comfortable atmosphere. Would recommend!
