“Could be better”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

I recently stopped at this hotel it looks very run down from the outside. Window frames very worn and need painting it looks very tatty. However, bedrooms are better modern and clean was surprised by them when I arrived. Breakfast was a slight let down not much choice with sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and two types of tomatoes and other continental breakfast items for the same price we found a better breakfast down the road. The hotel is quite far out of Chester and we always got a taxi which the hotel could arrange for you it is not in walking distance.Overall the hotel was better than expected but lots of improvements needed.

Rooms clean and tidy, and comfy bed and pillows but noise on all four sides. Banging doors in corridor, noisy road outside window. No net curtains. Hear the guys in rooms either side. Like camping but without a tent. Needs a little TLC

From the outside the Days Inn Chester North looks very tired, in need of a lick of paint and just generally run down, however, it has to be said their function room inside is lovely.
We recently had a party for family and friends in the Imperial Suite and had a great time.
The service you receive from Kaylee and Gemma at the Days is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble.
I can't comment on the guest rooms as we did not stay over but if you are looking for a decent room for a party for approx 100 people then look no further. The room is beautifully decorated with lovely chandeliers, the food was of a good standard and they allowed us to tailor the buffet. We received our room fee of £200 back as our parties bar bill was over £750.00 on a friday night which was good.
The only downside is how the place looks on the outside and the lack of car parking.

Stayed a Wednesday and Thursday night whilst visiting the Open Golf at Hoylake Liverpool.
Pleasant check in, however room very small ( not like pictures on website) bathroom OK.
Hotel appears to be in the middle of no-where, and a busy road about 10 metres away made it impossible for us to sleep, incidentally no air conditioning either.
Coffee, tea bags and milk were not replaced
We did not use leisure facilities
Only good point was the price

We ordered a family room, 2 adults, 2 children. We were presented with a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was like laying on a log pile and there was an array of metal fixings sticking out which unfortunately my 3 year old caught his head and his hip on. The phone wasn't even connected, and the wire to connect it was stripped down and out for the kids to play with. The mirror in the room wasn't properly attached to the wall and almost fell on a few occasions, and the door stop for the room entry door had a nail sticking out. No air con either, which in this heat was sorely missed.

The staff were friendly and the room was presented nicely enough. The leisure club was OK, the patrons were welcoming, the pool was very small and much more chemically than you would see in your local swimming pool.

Breakfast was an additional expense that I would advise not bothering with. It looked very unappealing with broken lids on the food and the scrambled egg... it was grey! and very stodgy. Fried eggs were not available either. I would have been fine if the beans were okay, but they were incredibly cheap and nasty. The hash browns fell apart when you picked them up. Not great I'm afraid.

Not a nice family hotel, but at least there was WiFi, albeit unsecured...

I have to start this review by saying this hotel was priced in the "Budget" range so I was not expecting the best.

I stayed there for a Saturday evening after visiting the Zoo and planning on having a drink in the city with my wife. Our first impressions were that it was definitely a budget hotel, nothing fancy although when we checked in we were greeted by a very lovely lady who could not have done more to explain the check-in process etc. Our room was basic which is fine as we were only going to sleep in it but it was clean enough although the window did look directly into the pool area so curtains closed the whole time.

We returned after having a pleasant evening in Chester and as I am a very deep sleeper I had a full nights sleep. My Wife however was awoken by a rabble of drunken Hens who decided to wake up the rest of the hotel guests. this is not the Hotels fault but the night porter could have come and had a few words.

Last disappointing thing was the pool. We wanted to have a swim before checking out on the Sunday morning however was told that we couldn't as there were swimming lessons for the majority of the time so we went back to the room.

Just remember that this is a very cheap hotel so you get what you pay for and I booked late so therefore there were no vacancies available at any other hotel.

Just stayed the one night and everything was fine, damp patches in the bathroom and the window (with view of four mattresses piled up against a wall) didn't open far enough, and on a warm evening it didn't make for a very comfortable nights sleep. Good breakfast and friendly staff though, also cheap enough bar drinks so still worthy of a decent score. Didn't have time for the use of the leisure facilities.
