We use this place a lot and are normally very happy, but our latest visit has compelled me to write this review as constructive critisism. We arrived at about 10 to 9 on a friday evening, after checking the website which stated they were open until 10.30. Upon being seated and opening menus, we were asked immediately if we were ready to place our order?!!! we were told this was due to the kitchen being about to close, and that 'chef' wouldnt be very happy! every other word from our otherwise lovely waitress was 'rush, quick or hurry'! I requested salad with my steak rather than peas, as i cant stand them and was again told that 'chef' wouldnt be happy, though it states on menu that things can be changed with no problem. My husbands starter was thrown at the plate and incomplete. Halfway through starters, another waitress came and asked if we were ready for mains, while we still had knives and forks in our hands!! Main was mediocre at best. Whole experience was very rushed and when we gave feedback at the end, we were told that its a very long day for the kitchen staff!!!! which i do appreciate, but maybe in the wrong job with that attitude?! We probably will return, but not as late at night. Just felt people should know that food is only served until 9, not the 10.30 that website leads you to believe. DO NOT GO AFTER 8.30 and expect to be made to feel welcome!!! PS, the chef needs to chnge his attitude towards his customers i think! Waitress Linda was lovely tho, and gave us some money off, though by then our evening out had been ruined.

We arrived (party of 4) and sat outside as it was a nice day. We were unsure about whether we'd be served at our table or we'd have to go inside to order. We waited a little while and saw two waitress' take food to a another table near us, so they knew we were there. 2 of our party decided they'd go inside and order drinks. The barman didn't know what they were ordering and it was on the menu! He asked for it a few times and still didn't recieve the right drink, so just gave up in the end. We ordered our food and said we were outside, but it became a little cold so came inside and told them this. Our food was taken outside until we realised what had happened and rectified it ourselves. My partner was then given his food, but it wasn't what he ordered, which we told them. Everyone seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else and couldn't be bothered with us. On the plus side there was one waitress (medium/short blonde hair) that seemed to be doing their job exceptionally well.

We were a family group of 6 including one member who needed a gluten free vegetarian meal. Not much choice for the coeliac so ordered a non exciting chips and egg with beans. When the meals arrived chips with meat were given to the vegetarian coeliac....not the waitresses fault as I saw her write the order down correctly.....sent it back....rest of the family had almost finished their meals when two under cooked eggs and the cold chips and beans ( presumably from the original plate) returned. Not wishing to upset the family put up with it but not enjoyable experience. Also tried to order desert for the children from the menus only to be told no longer available - new menu next month ! Constructive feedback given on payment of bill but not sure management really that interested. In fairness the waitress was apologetic and the rest of the food was not too bad....but...!

Went midweek meal for 2. Staff were very friendly, but this is the only reason I've awarded the extra star. We both had chicken and mushroom pie, mash and peas buy one get one free. The pie was very dry and the mash was made from powder (smash) and the peas were hard. We had to ask for gravy as it did not come with the dish. To top it off one of the chefs (I presume a chef) had thought it would be funny to make a smiley face on my mash with some peas, not impressed you think it's funny to play with my food! Please see my added photo to marvel at the cook's presentation skills..........
