Recently had lunch here with a friend on a Saturday. I am glad we had a booking and were seated by 12.30 as it became really busy and other customers were clearly becoming irritated by delays in receiving food and drinks. The waiting staff are lovely- just not enough of them. Food was good-we shared a platter which was delicious but £3.50 for a small bowl of what was clearly frozen chips-really?! Great atmosphere and fab outdoor area . Would return for drinks but possibly not food as £37 for a light lunch and 2 glasses wine is a bit steep

Visited recently, food and drink fine but I felt very sorry for the waiter on his own trying to run both bar and restaurant while what I think was the manager (young guy in suit) just stood and spectated. I first visited this place over a year ago now and it was run much better. I wont be returning for a third time thats for sure. Disappointing as its a nice venue but run by kids in suits!

Visited here this week for lunch. Not busy. Waitress very pleasant explained the menu, liked the way there were tapas type dishes so you could share. Food was very good. Nice on the terrace in the summer. Don't think though the toilets should be right by the kitchen?!

We booked this about 2 months ago, as it was advertised on the Chester Race course site. Sounded really good and looked nice on the web. First time in Chester and had booked tickets to the race day as well. Got to the Weighing Room and they had reserved our table, however not until we'd sat down with the first round of drinks do we find that on Race Days they don't have a proper menu!!!!!!!!! Just a £12 platter. Really disappointed, not the staffs fault on the night I guess, but you would think the company would work out if we'd gone to the trouble of booking 8+ weeks ahead we'd be expecting a meal. We struggled to find an alternative because the city centre was obviously well busy. Not good enough Weighing Room. Felt cheated.

Very interesting eatery, with some good people-watching too. Clearly an IN place to go. Hidden in the back streets, with slightly difficult parking, but worth hunting for.
