“Fantastic Cottage!”
Reviewed 8 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed at the cottage for 2 nights in May. The cottage is in a fantastic location in Chester city centre. It had everything we needed and more. The cottage was extremely welcoming and comfortable and we were surprised and delighted that we were provided with a hamper of basic food which meant we did not need to go shopping. This was a lovely touch!
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

“Exceptional Accommodation near the centre of Chester”
Reviewed 17 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Having grown up in Chester, I recognised the exterior of this charming character property and was impressed by the comments of other reviewers. My wife, teenage daughter and I stayed there for a weekend to celebrate a landmark birthday. It certainly did not disappoint and provided us with a memorable weekend.
The property is located close to the city centre and Grosvenor Park. It is a charming example of Victoian Gothic design and has some history attached to it. It has been beautifully restored and decorated and is spotlessly clean. We were able to park outside with the resident parking voucher provided which made unloading and loading luggage very easy. All you could possibly think of was provided including a thoughtfully stocked welcome basket. We were welcomed by the owners who showed us round this lovely cottage.
The property is very handy for Chester city centre shopping, the park and river, and Chester's excellent bars and restaurants. It was a cost effective, and better option, than an hotel for our stay. We had a wonderful time and give this property a wholehearted recommendation.

“douglas cottage chester - LOOK NO FURTHER!!!”
Reviewed 14 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Our family had the opportunity to stay in the beaurtifully appointed Douglas Cottage in Chester over the Chiristmas period in December 2013. This was our first visit from Australia in almost 20 years and fell in love with the cottage from the second we walked through the front door. This cottage has everything that anyone could possibly desire and the owners Barbara and Andy were truly lovely and helpful, rigjht down to a gorgeous welcome basket with everything one could want to help kickstart there stay. We will remember Douglas Cottage for years to come and would without hesitation highly recommend the cottage for the perfect place to stay in Chester. LOOK NO FURTHER!!! from Sylv, Fred, Mark, Barbie & Ryan from Brisbane, Qld, Australia

“Beautifully appointed cottage in excellent location.”
Reviewed 16 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Very friendly and congenial hosts, who seem committed to ensuring the stay was comfortable and effortless. The quaint little cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay immensely - it felt like home and I was reluctant to leave. The location is quiet yet convenient to the centre of Chester and all it has to offer.

“A spectacular house that will take your breath away”
Reviewed 26 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We stumbled across this delightful period cottage and so glad that we did. So much thought and attention to detail has been given in the creation of this exceptional house. The location is perfect with all Chester's attractions just a short walk away. The warm welcome really added to stay. Will be back.

“Homely and fabulous”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Myself and 4 friends stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful cottage. We were met by Barbara & Andrew who guided us around the property and all that we needed to know for an enjoyable weekend. The property was extremely well decorated and the cleanliness was of the highest standard. Very thoughtful touches by the owners included a lovely food basket with all the essentials needed for the weekend. The location is great just being off the city centre, within easy walking distance of shops and ample restaurants. Whilst you don't need your car, parking is amply taken care of by permit parking in the street outside.

Barbara & Andrew I would personally like to thank you for the return of my friends ring. We will all definitely recommend this property to family and friends and will be back again in the near future.
