We stayed here at the end of August 2012 for only one night. Wish it could have been more! The hosts and the house are warm and welcoming. Tea and biscuits on arrival and an amazingly comfortable bed. Superb breakfast with impressive choice - not just the usual "full English." I would love to return and unhesitatingly recommend this establishment.

Friendly welcome by Helen. She explained everything you need to know to explore the beautiful City Centre of Chester. Single room small, but adequate, nicely decorated as is the whole house. Wonderful garden to the rear. Located in a pleasant area south of the River Dee with good walking access to the race course and the city centre (15-20 minutes). Breakfast menu superb and tasted as good as it was described there. Loved the stay although next time I should spend more time in Chester itself, as I used this stay as a hub for Manchester and Liverpool.

Stayed here with my partner in the Super King room. Lovely room, nice ensuite, friendly hosts, fantastic bed and creature comforts-towels, bathrobes and slippers were soft!
Lovely breakfast and nothing was too much trouble; host moved one of their vehicles to make it easier to park our big pickup truck!
Plenty of info on places to visit, where to eat etc was available.

From the moment we arrived this was a super place to say. The welcoming tea was lovely after travelling and the advice to us as first time visitors to Chester was most helpful as was the map for our first excursion into Chester on foot. Although being a little distance from the centre we walked to the Chester Cross in about 15 mins taking different routes. The rooms were very spacious and well cared for and very tastefully decorated which encouraged a relaxing ambience. The bath towels were the softest ever. The breakfast options were super and the fresh fruit salad was a great start to the morning We intend to return to Chester with friends in the future and will definitely return to this fabulous Guest House in a fabulous city. Highly recommended.

From the great welcome from Helen to our farewells, our stay here could not have been better. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, bath towels were very soft which was very welcome, and bathrobes were provided. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of choices, and location was in a lovely part of Chester. Although not the closest to town, it was within walking distance which was very welcome after a filling breakfast. The walk to town was scenic and very pleasant, about 15 - 20 minutes. Our hosts were wonderful and only too willing to provide any advice when requested, and went that little bit extra too make our stay really enjoyable. Definitely one of the better B&B's we have stayed in, and one we would definitely return to when next in Chester.

I sent my parents here in May for a weekend for their 50th Wedding Anniversary and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay whilst visiting Chester and the Roman day at the Races. My husband and i have both been to Mitchells before and it is a nice, warm and welcoming B&B and would recommend it to anyone staying in Chester.
