We stayed for two nights in this beautiful Victorian guest house. The welcome was brilliant, when we arrived we were given tea and coffee in the reception room. And we were given a guide by the home owner as to where to go and places to eat. It was a very nice touch. The rooms are lovely very spacious warm, and very clean. We had breakfast in a beautiful dinning room. The breakfast was great. Plenty of food, and good choices. The guest house is just a short walk Fom the city centre. It is in an ideal location. We will defiantly be coming back.

We stayed two nights at this beautiful guesthouse towards the end of our stay in the UK. It was definitely one of the best accommodations we had stayed in and was excellent value for money, being so close to the centre of Chester. Our bedroom was huge, beautifully appointed and very quiet. The breakfasts were great and we felt like we were in a high class restaurant. Both nights we stayed we walked the short distance into Chester and ate at the Convivio (Italian) restaurant. The food was amazing and the portions huge.

Room Tip: If you have large suitcases, perhaps choose a room on the lower floors. The staircase to the top flo...

I should say that I'm more of a modern hotel user but this is just brilliant at what it does. The owners are most welcoming and you truly feel at home. The rooms are clean, well decorated and ours was more than generous. Rarely have I seen such attention to detail and variety in the tea and coffee facilty/supplies.

Breakfast was lovely and the hotel is well located for exploring Chester.

This will be my first choice of hotel when we next visit Chester. I can't really say more than that!

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 children mid October 2013.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and this really is a little gem of a Hotel.
It is ideally located for walking into Chester which takes about 20 mins or for visiting nearby attractions.
Our room which was the 4 bedded room was a delight. The room for cleaned to a very high standard and the extra little touches make this hotel stand out; sweets in the room, luxury toiletries, fantastic hospitality tray, lovely fluffy towels, it really was impressive.
Colin was extremely helpful in his knowledge of the area.
Breakfast was faultless and really set us up for the day.
If you are looking for a quaint family run hotel at good prices with those little extras then this really is the place to stay and well deserved in its 5 stars.
We will be back and will recommend this hotel to all our friends

Just wanted to say that in all the places I've stayed in Chester over the years Mitchell's is by far the best. Colin gave my wife and I a very warm welcome on arrival and a nice cup of tea with some help on getting around and places to see in Chester. Loved the room (6) which was more than generous and would be fantastic for a family of 4. We particularly loved the relaxed atmosphere (and great breakfast).
My wife is likely to be going back to Chester with my son and her mother at Half Term and will certainly be making a booking.
Highly recommended.
