Just spent two days at this beautiful guest house and found it to be excellent. Very traditional and ornate décor and absolutely spotlessly clean, Mitchells offers superb key ingredients of extremely comfortable and well equipped bedrooms plus first class breakfasts topped off with two very dedicated and warm friendly hosts, Helen & Colin. We couldn't have asked for anything better and highly recommend. The only thing for us was we found our bedroom on the first floor and accessed by quite a steep curving staircase, a little hard going and this could be an issue for less mobile guests. Other than that a really lovely guest house.

Room tip: Rosa Room is spacious and light. Faces the main road but no noise heard. All bedrooms rooms up a steep staircase

Thank for your response and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I don't think the staircase is 'steep', in fact it's quite easy going. It's just that it has 16No risers, and when you're used to to 11 or 12 you will notice the difference.

Chester is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at this Guest House. It is conveniently located within a pleasant 20 minute stroll into the heart of the city.
The pictures and description probably don't do this Guest House justice. It is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, delightfully furnished and the hosts are exceptional. I believe Helen and Colin have lived in this property for 40 years, their attention to detail on information regarding the local area as well as catering and the comfort and style of the accommodation is indicative of a real pride and passion for what they do.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this Guest House to my nearest and dearest.

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Chester. We arrived Friday afternoon and was immediately shown to our room. Once we had settled we went to the lounge where Helen the owner bought us a pot of tea and cake/biscuits - lovely touch.
The room was lovely we stayed in the 'Laurel' very comfortable bed with en-suite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities with a selection of biscuits. The bathroom has complimentary toiletries, and large fluffy white towels. There is a TV and also a hairdryer. The place was very clean and tidy - everywhere was spotless.
Its only a short walk into town which was a great bonus.
Lovely hosts Helen and Colin could not do enough for you the breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a selection of fruit juices and tea/coffee alongside fresh fruits and yoghurts.
All in all a wonderful stay in a beautiful house with exceptional hosts.

Room tip: We had the Laurel which faced onto the back of the property lovely and quiet.

Myself and my partner Wendy, were visiting Chester for her birthday and early anniversary celebrations, while looking for a place to stay overnight a few weeks back we stumbled upon Michell’s of Chester guest house, it has numerous 5 star awards and even a gold rating. They deserve every one!

We stayed in a beautiful spacious room, and were welcomed by a lovely girl named Hannah upon arrival with tea and biscuits and then helped us with walking routes and suggestions of what we could see within Chester.

Our breakfast was amazing, served by Hannah and her friend who had recently started.

One of the owners,Helen, is such a lovely lady and an excellent host, unfortunately we didn’t get chance to meet her husband, Colin, properly but he was very nice on the phone when my partner spoke to him to confirm our booking.

We look forward to visiting again, the house is beautiful, full of stunning period features. It has all the modern facilities needed for your stay and little added extras such as bath robes, slippers and high class toiletries ensure you feel spoilt. Our room was spotless and luxurious. The staff were very polite and kind and the owners are fantastic hosts. One night was not enough!

Regards
Jason & Wendy

This is a lovely little B&B in a convenient location of Chester. It's not city centre but it's walkable or a short taxi away. There's parking available at no added charge. The hosts are simply lovely and I felt welcomed and relaxed from setting foot in the door. The room I had was decent size double (I booked as single) and the bathroom a good size with all necessary amenities. The shower wasn't very powerful and also the temperature for me was not hot enough. I did stay on a particularly cold Saturday and couldn't get warm. The breakfast is well catered for however they serve between 8:30 and 9:30 and unfortunately I had to be on a course by 9:30 so had to rush. That aside it is spotlessly clean, beautiful garden and house and I would definitely stay here again when visiting Chester. Simply delightful
