We had a meal here at about 8.45 on a Tuesday evening having already given up due to poor service at another restaurant in the town. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff who gave us a menu and served drinks to us. The meal we had was lovely and was fairly good value too. We would recommend this to other people.

We had a mid-week meal here via Groupon voucher. The 2 pasta meals were hot, good sized portions, but poor- meatballs tasted like regurgitated cardboard (I imagine...!) and thus were inedible. Prawns were plentiful but pasta was swimming in water. The manageress (we presume) said she would inform the chef, and upon our query, told us she had duly done this. Nothing else was said nor offered in recompense. Surely the point of Groupon is to get more clients in and expand via recommendation? The corner rows position is a first class spot and should be heaving with clients on a warm summer afternoon- it wasn't. There are so many great restaurants in Chester; this one really lets the side down.

I visited this bar-restaurant with four friends at lunchtime, mid-week. It was not busy. It looked cosy and inviting, on a dull, wet day. It's certainly in a prime spot. A drinks order was taken and quickly delivered. After that it all went down hill. Our food order took so long that we had to chase it up with the staff. Even then it took a further 10-15 minutes to arrive. Whilst we waited, we overheard the American family, who were sat next to us, also having to complain about the wait. When the food arrived it was sub-standard. For instance, I had ordered their 'homemade beef burger'. The burger was small, dry, over-cooked and tasteless, in a small bap with one slice of tomato, one piece of lettuce and a few dried up, fried onions. The accompanying chips had obviously been re-heated. Not nice. The waitress, when we had barely finished eating, started clearing the table and then asked us not 'would you like a sweet or a coffee', but 'would you like the bill'! The person taking our money at the bar made the mistake of asking us if everything was all right - at least we got a sizeable reduction in the bill. I suspect this operation is under new management. They must do alot better than this to survive.
