Our choir spent four nights here during a trip to sing at Chester Cathedral. Our dinner on the
first night featured choices such as seabass, chicken in a white wine sauce, duck appetizer and
I must say that the sticky toffee pudding was just what the doctor ordered. Everything was
served efficiently and with good humor.
Our breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs that were actually cooked, very good croissants,
and a selection of cereals and meats along with unlimited pots of coffee and tea.
The front desk personnel were gracious and professional, especially since we
were such a large group. They helped us print a picture from an email on their little
office printer saving us from a very big headache that evening.
The bar was spacious, with wi-fi and a nice selection of drinks including a good number
of English beers on tap. An extra experience was the L-eau T Cuisine river cruiser, which
hosted us for dinner. Again, the food was very good and served by a professional staff; the captain was amusing and welcoming and made the trip memorable even when the walls seemed a little close for this claustrophobe.
The hotel is very central - five minute walk to "the Wall" and close to restaurants and shops.
When I return to England, I will make this one of my stops - Chester is a charming town with
delightful residents and plenty of history for those of us who love learning about the past.
