Just spent two nights at the mill hotel in Chester, good location only a few minutes walk into town.We had a club room which was clean, good size and very comfortable.the breakfast was fine and the staff were friendly. The real ale bar was great especially when it was so cold outside and the beer and choice was good.

The Mill is looking tired and is in need of re-refurbishment. To be fair the price reflects this.
Breakfast was the usual buffet only worse!!. Eggs cooking under heat lamps along with the drying bacon and sausages. Have the continental as its hard to ruin fruit and cornflakes..

Just returned from a week-end break with friends. If travelling by train, the Hotel is just a five minute walk from the station. No problems at all at check in. Our room was a bit on the small side and probably needs re-decorating, but it was spotless and very comfortable beds. Booked the dinner dance on the Friday evening, the food was very good and wine was reasonably priced. we also booked the dinner cruise on Saturday evening and again it was excellent value for money. The real ale bar stocks a good selection of beers and the bar staff were only too happy to provide a sample before purchasing a pint. The Hotel is just a short walk into the Centre of Chester and its attractions. All in all we had a great week-end and would definitely return to the Mill Hotel. If you fancy a pint away from the Hotel, be wary of the Lockkeeper bar just along the canal. £9.25 for a pint a small glass of wine

Arrived for a weekend stay - reception staff excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room was in the South Wing and a very good size. The only problem was the light - very limited from table lights. The room, when you looked closely is in need of a little redecoration. No fridge. Bathroom a little tired.

Lots of group bookings there and did not get much sleep due to next few rooms banging on doors and generally not sleeping until 6a.m.

Breakfast was ok... dining room with low ceiling, too hot, a little oppressive and very busy. On the plus side, good location, plenty of parking reception staff brilliant - would stay again - Not sure

went to a meeting in Chester and stayed at this hotel,it has a superb restaurant with a 3 course meal and coffee for twenty pounds, it has a really good spa and pool,we upgraded for a premier room with a balcony with a view over the canal and a jacuzzi in the bath. The hotel has a real ale bar with a good choice of beers, all the staff we spoke to were helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: enquire about the cost of an upgrade
