just got back last night, stayed just one night, could have stayed for more, staff lovely, friendly,
room overlooking the canal ,very quiet, room clean ,good size bathroom with great shower over bath, bed sooooo comfy so where the pillows. breakfast buffet good, free car parking great bonus, 5 min walk to centre, will be booking again next time visiting Chester. Bar prices not bad compered to some hotels
. Only disappointment was not the hotel, but Chester itself, are they on such a tight budget for xmas trees and decorations very poor, didn't get the xmas feel at all. Went to racecourse for xmas winterwonderland, what a big disappointment that was, paying £5 each to enter a small fairground, with a couple of poorly decorated huts the vodka ice bar that we were looking for was shut, and doesn't open till next week, but no mention of this before we went in an paid, massive queues with kids waiting to see father xmas. if your going without kids I wouldn't waste your money then again not that much for them,

Room Tip: pay extra for executive room quiet, views

I went to Mill Hotel as a special treat, I had a coffee,we went outside and got on a canal boat, The tables were laid beautifully . We had a 3 course meal which was excellent. The staff were wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone, & would go again.

I have just returned home after a one night stay at the Mill Hotel and I must say I did not enjoy it in the slightest. First of all, the staff are very stuck up. They looked down their noses at my girlfriend and I from the second we walked in. The only staff that were what I would say acceptable where the people behind the public bar. We chose not to eat in the restaurant due to the staff and because of the sheer lack of choice on the menu's. My advice, go out. The room which we stayed in was on the fourth floor and I would have to say it is very dated. Also the smell was not to pleasant. If you mix wet dog with toothpaste your not to far away. There where marks on the walls, handprints on the mirrors, discarded tissues and cotton buds on the floor and a very hard mattress. The main problem I have was that at 8 o clock this morning while my girlfriend and I were just waking up we heard the door moving and then we're greeted by a man (another guest) at the foot of our bed. Oh and we had an extra 28 pounds added to our room bill for things we hadn't had or even signed for? Absolutely ridiculous, I could go on but I do not see the point in even spending time writing about the dive that is The Mill Hotel. Avoid at all costs. £70 for one night B and B. The second b with lovely horse meat sausages. Not even worth the petrol money I paid to get there.

Located on the Chester ring road, this excellent hotel with conference facilities and spa also has its own canal boat for evening meals (check it out). The rooms are good and very comfortable, with and excellent restaurant, and top top it off, a great real ale bar serving a good selection of local ales.

The mill hotel is located on the canal with the dinning room overlooking the canal. The staff are very friendly & helpful our room was in the original part of the hotel and as the room was very hot we asked if it was possible to have a fan as the rooms have no air conditioning not a problem said reception and one was sent to our room . There is ample carparking which is free to hotel guests . At breakfast there was something for everyone from a full English cereal , croissants , yoghurt and fresh fruit , there was plenty of staff on duty who showed you to your table and brought you tea / coffee pots with milk / cream there was even staff on duty at the toast machine who did your toast and brought it to your table . The spa is reached by a glass footbridge over the canal to what is called the annexe there are also bars and restaurant s in this part of the building as well as more guest rooms , once again the spa staff were friendly and helpful . The hotel is only about a five min walk into the town center via the canal path which is very picturesque s . Only fault we found was there was no air con in the rooms, we are already planning our next trip to the mill hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for canal facing room views of chester are better from this side

The Mill is looking tired and is in need of re-refurbishment. To be fair the price reflects this.
Breakfast was the usual buffet only worse!!. Eggs cooking under heat lamps along with the drying bacon and sausages. Have the continental as its hard to ruin fruit and cornflakes..
