“Family meet up”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2014

Chose this location for annual meet up with siblings for dinner, drinks and stopover.
Comfy room but heating needs upgrading - had to leave electric convector heater on all night at its max setting of 23deg but this was still a bit chilly. Staff said we could have an additional oil filled radiator if we wanted but we declined the offer.
Food on the meal deal was mediocre (7/10) but palatable. We were a little disappointed with delayed service. Table booked for 8pm but not ready until 20mins later, food not served until 8.45. Mitigating circumstances were that a number of youngsters' birthday parties were on going, but hey - we paid upfront, over twelve weeks ago!!!???
Also, a bit of a question on hygeine with food server staff - no gloves when handling food, coughing, wiping brow etc ..come on Whitbread, get your fingers out with staff training on food hygeine
Breakfast its usual good standard and plenty of it with good breakfast staff.

Room Tip: Warmer rooms in centre corridors, avoid 42 to 45

Collecting an elderly relative for Christmas. Previously had done there and back in one day but from Southampton it's a fair old drive, so decided to stay over this year. The receptionist was very kind and helpfull when we arrived in the late evening. The room was clean and quiet over night; although being of slight build I find the beds a little on the hard side. Had prebooked breakfast at the Twirl of Hay, which is good value and set us up for the drive back. The room was very cold when we arrived, but fiddling with the heating warmed it up, but by morning it was cold again. Will definately come back for the return leg.

Room Tip: Receptionist advised us to ask for "real" radiators next time.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at this Premier inn it's great for going shopping to Chester and we use the park and ride as always we had a lovely nights sleep, I do love the pillows...room clean ,tea +coffee when we used them all I only had to ask at reception and the lady was lovely and gave us some more. We ate next door food was good but service still slow not enough staff on the bar excellent play area for children up to the age of about 7. look forward to using this Premier inn again ,
What more can you ask for great value £25 a night..

Booked for a quiet getaway between Christmas and New Year. A little way out of the centre of Chester, so i would probably book the city centre hotel next time. It's about a half an hour walk into the centre, or a short bus ride. Looks a little dated and in need of refurbishment in some areas. However great value for money, efficient staff and an excellent breakfast.

Very nice stay but some road noise when staying at room near road, dinner was excellent at Whirl of Hay both nights. very good for local places only 15 mins from Cheshire Oaks and Chester handy for motorway also

Room Tip: stay away from rooms at front facing road. Odd high numbers

Stayed for 2 nites....located conveniently close to the motorway and across the street, a gas station and Sainsbury. Its abit far off from town but a cab ride will cost about 6 pound. Its a budget hotel but the rooms are clean and at 29 pound a nite, its of great value. The down side..there is no phone in the room, the pillows are too soft for us. We ate at the pun next door....decent food and if its before 6.30pm, there is a discount. We drove t0 Cheshire Oaks Outlets and its only about 10mins drive and easily accessible. Hotel staff are also friendly....overall great value for money.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the carpark and road....and avoid ground floor...noisy..

Staff helpful and friendly, Rooms more than adequate, comfortable, clean and large screen TV. Evening meal in pub cheap & cheerful (not for special occasions!), breakfast plentiful and competes as well as any 3 tar plus hotel.

Location of hotel, 2 miles or so from town centre but across the road to park & ride is ideal at busy shopping times.
