“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 17 September 2013 via mobile

My wife, 6 month old son and I stayed in the Balcony Room for one night and were very impressed. The location was lovely and quiet with great access to the zoo, aquarium and numerous local family pubs and restaurants. The room was great, with the enormous bed particularly good and the view to the garden excellent. Service was extremely friendly and the breakfast the next morning was fantastic. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed at the
Manor on the 10th aug. we asked the lady to put champagne and strawberries in the room for us which she did and also put a picnic basket in there. They upgraded us to the master room which had a seven foot bed and very comfy, with a Gorgeous bath and shower. The room had a large tv in and a sofa with books to read and information for the places you can visit. We loved it there very peaceful and fantastic service all round. We would go back next time we visit Chester without a doubt.

Having recently stayed in the balcony room on 6th august i cannot wait to go back, the atmosphere is so relaxing and chilled and the staff are so friendly and helpful and will go out there way for you to help. The views over the garden are so relaxing when sitting having a drink on the balcony. Highly recommended.

Staff were friendly and very attentive. Did their best to make us feel comfortable and went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We had the balcony room overlooking the garden, good size with an en-suite and the night cap was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious - on the final morning the breakfast room was full (only 4 tables) so we ate out on the terrace much to the jealousy of the other guests. Could easily charge more for what you get - highly recommended.

FYI Didn't order room service and don't think they had a pool.

My husband and I decided at the very last minute to have a night away and looked through a wide range of places to stay around Chester and because of the excellent reviews for Mickle Trafford Manor and the images of the place, it was exactly what we wanted! We had the balcony room and it overlooked the gardens and all you could see was trees all around you, it was so tranquil and relaxing. The room was beautiful and comfortable and we felt very relaxed whilst we were there. It is very easy-going there, they have an 'honesty box' as they provide cold wine, beer and soft drinks in the fridge in the breakfast room. Also, there was a home-made cake for you to help yourself to in reception. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The reading room was really lovely and overlooked the garden. We did not use the hot tub or sauna so can't comment on these. John and Sammie the owners were a delight and very friendly and welcoming. We definitely will be returning for another stay.

Room Tip: The Balcony Room is the only one with this added feature and you are at the back overlooking the gar...

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Mickle Trafford Manor for a wonderful stay last week. We have stayed before and were thrilled that our second visit was as wonderful as the first! Sadly we didn't share our stay with Rick Stein like last time (how lucky was that!!) but we did enjoy the lovely sunshine in the historic walled city of Chester and relaxed in The Manor's immaculate gardens afterwards. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Cheshire from now on... Thank you

we recently stayed for 1 night as a stop over travelling from tewkesbury to liverpool, and what a good decision!. the house is obviously olde world but very welcoming and our room was superb, with the huge bed, double ended bath and high beamed ceiling. sammie was a great host and always willing to give any help or tips she could. the breakfast in the morning was lovely and fresh as well. even though it is not really within walking distance of anything it is still handily placed only a couple of minutes from the M53, and on the A56. would definitely stay again!
