“Great place for a family celebration!”
Reviewed 15 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We were a family party of 12 ranging from 4 months to 64 years coming together to celebrate my son's 40th birthday. The house was enormous with plenty of bedrooms to accommodate us all.
The kitchen was huge and well equipped. It had a great range cooker, two fridges, plenty of freezer spacer and a dishwasher. The separate lounge and dining room meant that the children had somewhere to play while we were sorting out the food.
The pool was great for the children, if a little on the cold side for the adults brave enough to go in! We would all love to return again.

“Excellent accommodation for family get together”
Reviewed 8 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

There were 12 of us ranging from 9 - 70 years old. We celebrated our joint 70th Birthdays and our grand-daughter's 13th Birthday. Rose Cottage was ideal with plenty of room for all of us and it was lovely to all be able to eat together in the large dining room. All the bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The extra facilities with the pool table and swimming pool were a big bonus and enjoyed by all.

“Perfect”
Reviewed 17 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My friends and I stayed here for a long weekend and couldn't have asked for anything more perfect.

The house itself was spotless. There was plenty of space, and very accessible for a member of our party who requires walkers and wheelchairs.
The pool and leisure area were great. The pool was very clean and nice and warm! The surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning. Lots of fields and a small fishing pond.

All amenities were included (pans, cutlery etc). Towels were also included (except for the pool, so you'll need your own for that).

The location was great for Chester. Just a 10 minute drive, and £10 in a taxi on a Saturday night. There's also a few local pubs around if you don't want to go to the centre.

Had a great time, would definitely go again!

“Family stay for New Year”
Reviewed 9 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

The perfect place for our family gathering and celebrations for New Year. Arrived 30 December till 3 January celebrating New Years Eve and New Years Day here. Great size for fitting in 12 of us. plenty of room to have a party and we all fit round the table comfortably for meal times especially good for New Years Day roast dinner. Cheshire Oaks and Chester were all quick and easy to get to for a short trip out. The cottage was clean and had all utensils in the kitchen you could possibly need. Angela who met us on the first day to show us round was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was decorated with Christmas trees and decorations in every room which made our party complete. Had a great stay here and would definitely bear it in mind for any future family parties/get togethers.plenty of car parking outside front door and some nice little walks to go on nearby.

“Perfect for a family gathering”

We had a great weekend in Rose Cottage. There were 12 of us ranging from 4 months to 60 and there was plenty of room for everyone; the house felt very open and spacious and there was enough bathrooms for the number of people staying. It's well positioned for Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks outlet and Chester centre.

The house was really clean when we arrived, but you do need to remember to bring your own hand soap and washing up items. The kitchen was very well equipped - masses of pans and utensils and so many plates that you didn't need to wash them all before meal times to have enough. There was also a dishwasher which is always nice when on holiday!

The pool was great - I read other reviews that said the pool was too cold but I don't agree - I'd say this was the same temp as normal public swimming pool, even my 4 month old went in and enjoyed it. We often had the pool to ourselves which was also an added bonus.

As mentioned in another review, some areas are a little tired (esp. the en suite) and occasionally the water would turn cold or just stop mid-shower. I think this may have been because there was often more than one person having a shower at once - but this was pretty hard to avoid given the amount of people the house could accommodate and the fact there was an indoor pool onsite. The bathrooms also didnt have any blinds/curtains which I thought was a bit odd - especially in the en suite as that wasnt even patterned glass! There could have been a little more seating/bean bags in the lounge as there wasn't quite enough chairs for full occupancy meaning 2 people had to sit on the floor/dining chair.

However, these were only minor things and didn't put a dampener on the weekend. The communication from the owner was second to none - quick to respond and very helpful. In summary, this house met all our needs for a weekend away with all the family.
