I stayed here on business in Falmouth and was very pleasantly surprised. Sharon and Mike are very attentive (without being pushy) and nothing is too much trouble. The location is a 3 minute walk from a lovely beach and there is a nice bar/restaurant close to hand. The rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean and very much in the mold of the great british B&B! I would recommend the Rathgowry to any of my family and friends and look forward to staying in the future :0)

This was my first time on a Cornish Holiday, and I have to say that it was made great by my experience at the Rathgowry in Falmouth.

We drove throughout Cornwall, but upon arriving with my partner, Sharon offered us both a very warm welcome at this B&B.

We benefitted from off street parking, but the location was fantastic, being a 1 minute walk from the beach.

The entire place was warm and clean, with the public rooms being bright, and spacious. We were most impressed with our room that was large, bright, and had a fantastic view out on to the beach/harbour.

Breakfast was hearty, with a selection to cater most tastes (cereals, Continental, Full English…) but having opted for an eggs and bacon start to the day, this left me satiated for the next several hours.

The Rathgowry is close enough to all you need to get to in Falmouth, but comfortably far enough away that you can relax without the throngs of people (keeping in mind this was September, and the nearby beach wasn’t filled with little ones), with an idyllic base for walks along the coast.

I was very impressed with my first trip down to Cornwall, and thank the Rathgowry’s accommodation, service and hospitality. I hope to come back down to Cornwall again soon, have another relaxed stay here.

Lovely B & B in a great location 1 minute from Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth. Our room had sea views too and was really spacious. Very friendly, kind and attentive hosts who gave us lots of useful information about the local area. Accommodation had a generally homely feel, really comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfasts too. Lots of nice touches in the accommodation, like bottle of water in the rooms as well as hot beverages, and bags of sweets on departure.
Lots to do in the immediate area, lovely walks along the seafront and coastal paths. Town full of lots of nice shops and cafes, restaurants and bars.
Would also highly recommend 'Hooked on the Rocks' restaurant only 15 minute pretty coastal path walk from B & B (or 5 minute drive). Great food, specialising in local seafood but lots of choice besides fish, in a beautiful location overlooking Swanpool Beach. Service was excellent and great, relaxed atmosphere with a good 'buzz'.
We'd definitely be keen to return to Falmouth and to this B & B.

Room Tip: Good sea view rooms available, we stayed in a superior double which was very spacious with a large s...

We arrived at Rathgowry, with our daughter & son in law for a short break and were welcomed by Sharon. Hotel was well appointed, just a stroll to a blue flag beach with lovely views. Both our rooms were clean and roomy, we were well fed with local produce by Mike who prepared breakfast to order (including a vegetarian option). Sharon & Mike only took over the Hotel in July this year, but have a flair for looking after guests. We look forward to a return visit in the near futute

Location is perfect for exploring Falmouth - near to beach, near to to train station. Sharon is ready with a map and suggestions for great walks and places to explore. Mike provides cooked to order breakfast with plenty of choices. The room was spacious with nice linens and amenities - very comfortable.

What a delightful experience! An outstanding location perfectly complemented by our gracious hosts, Mike and Sharon. Their knowledge of the area and passion for everything Cornish (breakfast is locally produced where appropriate) was a revelation and nothing was too much trouble, every request was acted upon with a smile. The Rathgowry is superb for families and couples alike.
