It was our first visit to Cornwall and it was made really memorable due to our stay at The Rathgowry. Sharon and Mike are great hosts and didn't hesitate to go the extra mile to make our stay at their B&B very comfortable. We travelled with our two young daughters aged 4 and 7 and our ensuite room was large enough to accommodate all four of us. It was a five minute walk to the beach and we had a sea view from the room.
Sharon was kind and patient while helping us with directions or things to do and places to eat.
Mike makes a great breakfast and that started of our day on a good full note :)
There is free car parking and we could just leave the keys at the desk in case there was a need to move our car.
I highly recommend The Rathgowry for your next stay in Cornwall.

Lovely clean and airy room. Very comfy bed. Beautiful view from the balcony over the bay! Sharon was very helpful and lovely in all respects. Breakfast was fab especially Sharon's home made muesli! Maybe the shower cubicle was a little small and the sink a little inconvenient in the corner of the room but for us neither was a problem especially for what it cost. We did have to shunt cars in the car park but this wasn't a problem because we left Sharon with a key and we didn't need to use the car much because we took our bicycles! The Cornish hills aren't for the light hearted because they are extremely testing but the scenary is just beautiful! We wouldn't hesitate to book at The Rathgowry again.

We had super time at this excellent B&B in Falmouth in May which began with Sharon's welcome at the door as we arrived, through to the spotlessly clean room and Mike's fantastic Cornish breakfast. Our family room was very well appointed and had fresh decor. We were made aware of the futon style bed for one of the kids as we made our booking but this was not an issue in the end. The room was a good size and although the en suite bathroom was small (this is an old house!) everything was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed from biscuits on the tea tray to plenty of towels. The breakfast was great too with local produce and gave us a chance to try "Hogs pudding" - a Cornish variant of black pudding. Sharon was a very helpful and friendly host. The B&B is perfectly situated for Gyllingvase beach and is a 10 minute walk into town. As quite frequent traveller due to my work, I would say The Rathgowry beats a good number of larger chains for this level of quality and at a very reasonable price! We will certainly be staying at the Rathgowry again on a future trip to Cornwall.

We stayed the one night as we were visiting family and joining in the fun of the Sea Shanty Festival. The Rathgowery is a prime location, just a stones throw from Gylly beach and a lovely stroll to the town. We were given a warm welcome and Sharon and showed to our room, no sea view (not requested) but then we weren't there to sit in our room and look at the sea!
The room was spotless, and the towels lovely and soft. The bed was very comfortable. Although there was free wifi, it did not seem to do anything, maybe just required a 'reboot', but for us this was not the end of the world. There was a good selection for breakfast which we were requested to choose the night before. Everything was cooked as requested and tasted lovely. The dining room was light and clean and had a view of the beach.
Parking can be had at the property but be warned if you are first in then you will be blocked in, which is probably not a problem as once here you won't need to be driving again until you leave. Our car was blocking others in, but we were happy to leave our keys with Sharon to move our in case other guests needed to get their cars out.
We would certainly not hesitate to return.

Great location, lovely view from our balcony, 1 minute walk to the beach and a pretty short walk to the town centre. Very clean, Sharon was a great host who helped with information on where to go and see.

Breakfast was good.

Only downside would be that the shower is far too small and the sink is in the bedroom (and ours produced some strange sounds and smells at random times.

Superb! Our five night stay was fantastic. Sharon could not do enough for us and made us very welcome. We have a 15 month old daughter so it is incredibly important to stay somewhere that is clean and friendly. The rooms are spotless, Sharon is very friendly and food was great. When asked, nothing was too much trouble.

I feel it is also necessary to mention that Sharon also bought a brand new cot bed with revolving mobile and high chair for our stay; something that made us immediately feel that our comfort is the upmost importance. Our daughter slept very well (and consequently so did we!).

Location could not be better; great views, close to the beach and coastal strolls, Gylly beach café/ restaurant and a short walk into town. Lots of things to do and see. We will be recommending to friends and look forward to returning when our daughter is a little older.
