“Fantastic place”

We stayed in the cornwallis for a long weekend family get together, &were very pleased allround with the accomodation.Yes you can here noises for the adjoining cottages, but we just passed this off that the place was haunted which added to the fun of the weekend. Ideal for walkers, cyclist, kayakers, or fishermen, you will not get a better location.

We have stayed at the Boscawen twice and froshier cottage once, we have experienced beautiful family holidays here and it is definitely the best place we have stayed.
A small criticism the sofas need replacing as they are looking quite worn however the cottages on the whole are beautiful and well recommended.
When we visit Cornwall again we would definitely chose to stay here as it is central to the places around Cornwall and its a wonderful scenic location!!!

Stayed here in early January with the whole of my family in early January very last minute !! The appartments are beautiful, decorated to a very high standard, extremely clean and large the 8 bed one held 14 of us for dinner on our first night !! Knives forks and crockery in abundance infact you wouldn't need to take anything but your toilettries and food. Just a couple of downers the walls are very thin we could hear next door at breakfast and the heating fan was outside our bedroom and sounded like a helicopter taking off when it fired up and being on during the night as it was snowing kept me awake :( oh and the pillows had seen better days might want to take your own. On the whole it was a lovely place to stay..

A great place, great staff at the office and the Mylor cafe served great food with really happy staff but it was so unfortunate that the thin walls and floors left us with little sleep and grumpy children as they too could not sleep. Our 3 year old who usually goes to bed at 7 was not asleep until 10 most nights. My thoughts are the family next door were just rude! Every step, scrape of chairs on the floor, even conversation was heard from below and at the side. If you have a good pair of ear muffs the you will be ok! One other thing to note was the heat of the apartment. They do have fans in each room but they tend to squeak loudly. I know I sound like a grumpy old bag but the lack of sleep really does not help! I guess you get what you pay for!

You need to get firm directions as sat nav / post code does not take you to destination.
Stayed in the grenville and first impressions were how nice and clean the apartment was.
The parts which could have been improved on as stated on previous review was parking whilst you had a sticker there wasnt always a parking bay.
Fridge fault reported on Thursday still not resolved by following Tuesday, this caused problems shopping as purchasing chilled goods plus travelling to and from the shops became a chore.
For a quiet holiday it was very good

My wife, daughter and I stayed here late March in 'Effingam' and found it very clean, well decorated, convenient and comfortable. We were there for just four nights but the furnishings and fittings were such, it would have been equally good for a much longer stay. Nice touches as the provision of freh flowers, tea, coffee and biscuits were appreciated. The booking staff and those in the Harbour Office could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Top marks to them all. The only negative, (there is always one, isn't there?) is the shortage of parking spaces, although a free parking sticker is provided. The owners should consider reserving one space per let apartment to remove anxiety and a hunt for space, when returning from a day away.

We rented this because we wanted somewhere down on the Carrick Roads and something modern and up to date. We rented it on a special offer where it was only £800 instead of the usual £1385 or so for this week. The website leaves out quite a few things that I think should be included.
The picture used on the website shows the harbour front and only one of the properties is there. The long low building shown is actually a restaurant and the other apartments are behind this. They are across 3 floors and so the smaller ones are on the ground floor with small enclosed gardens between the restaurant and the building. Their bedrooms unfortunately look out under the access to the larger apartments and in one case their only view is the bin enclosure.

The larger apartments are on the first and second floors and reached from a road up the back which also services the boat business behind the apartments and a rather industrial staircase leads up to a basic terrace with a very tiny bbq. This entrance is not pretty and feels more like a service entrance with the back door to the kitchens of another restaurant also there. The end apartment appears to be used for a staff member from one of the restaurants and so you get a washing line of their stuff waving round the whole time.
The bedroom windows of our apartment (Boscawen) were directly over two of the apartments downstairs and so when they let their small children out to play at ungodly hours of the morning or decided to blow up a canoe we were woken up. We were also slightly disturbed by the people sitting at the picnic tables outside Castaways restaurant, it was fine most of the time but sometimes you got a very braying voiced lady incapable of talking at a sensible volume or children running wild round the outdoor area or someone with a dog that barked madly at every other dog that went along the road.
The apartment was well stocked with most things you will need. The only drawback was no washing machine. There is a laundrette on the harbour site but you have to take pot luck as to whether someone else was using the machine (one was out of order the whole time we were there). Could also have done with cling film and foil left in the kitchen. The tv was really tiny and not a great picture.
On the plus side the apartment was very nice with plenty of room. There were views round the restaurant from all the bedrooms and the living room. If you are boaty the location is perfect with lots to do. The location is also great for exploring Cornwall as you are very central and the roads down to Mylor are very good. There are also ferries and water taxis to get you to other towns very easily. There are lovely walks round the area, especially round to Flushing. The restaurant Castaways was fairly firmly priced but the food was very good.
So, although we would have liked to have seen more realistic pictures of the apartments, we would go again provided the price was right. If you want a grown up holiday and want to be up and out it will suit you very well.

Room Tip: Boscawen was probably the best of the apartments
