“Not the best, but certainly not the worst!”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Having had the most appalling cornish pasty in Truro the previous day, we were looking to find a decent pasty shop in Falmouth. A local recommended this place and it was just okay. The creamy chicken pasty had to be reheated as it wasn't very hot but apart from that, the traditional cornish and also the veggie pasties were okay (certainly better than we'd tried to eat the day before). You'll have already read this, but not sure how they can justify an extra £1+ for eating the pasty in the shop, this is a rip-off!!

“Disgusting, cold food”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

With an appealing name that suggested they may serve good pasties, we gave Pasty Face a try.
With no atmosphere other than a nice view from the back window, we were able to focus on the mediocre standard of cleanliness. Still, it was our desire to have a Cornish pastie whilst in this neck of the woods.
A grave mistake that made us wonder why we had walked past so many other appealing eateries for lunch. It became apparent to us that we were indeed lucky to be served in this establishment as there were so many more important things for staff to do. Gossiping with friends amongst them.
Eventually, we got our greatly anticipated pastie only to find it cold and mostly just potato. Could have had chips if that was our need. With pasties begrudgingly reheated and no apology forthcoming we left with a sour taste in our mouth other than that which the food created.

“Poker face”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 via mobile

It might look like a nice place and ill admit it was clean and tidy but....... Value for money was really poor. Pasty was nothing special and costs an extra £1 to eat in. The taste was not great and not value for money at just under £4 per pasty. In total we spent £13 ish for 2 pastys a sausage roll a bottle of cheap water and a cup of tea. I can't tell you about any atmosphere as there wasnt any on the day we went. No music nothing just some bloke that works there talking loudly to some punters about his shitzu puppy he had just acquired. Overall I wouldn't recommend it. There was a much nicer looking place for take away pastys up the road selling them for a respectable £2.40. - £3.00. Much better value and they looked nicer. I wish we had walked back to that place rather than settling here :-(.

“Awkward atmosphere”
Reviewed 9 August 2013 via mobile

The cafe was empty but it was early 11.50am so I assumed just not busy time yet. We were drawn in by the window seats looking over harbour and decided to have an early lunch. The lady who was serving just told us the choices were on the board behind her, proceeding to stand right in front of us, and looked at me waiting for choices. I felt I had no time to read the menu and was under pressure to order quickly. It may be an idea to have a paper menu so people can step away while they choose, or leave them to choose in their own time. No-one else was waiting (nor were there in the whole 45 mins we were there) We were advised not to choose drinks cans from the broken fridge but to choose the drink and she had colder ones available, which we appreciated. When we went to sit down in the window seats it was immediately obvious that this was not a very well run cafe, as the staircase to the downstairs area had dirty washing up balanced all down the side of the stairs. Judging by how quiet the cafe was, and the volume of washing up, this was possibly more than a days worth! A second member of staff arrived and walked down the stairs leaving the washing up on them (only picked up one cup!) and was just as distant as the first but we were treated to hear all about a colleagues stomach upset as he chatted! A third member of staff appeared and he did take all the washing up away, but it was not acceptable to have it all there in view of guests. Food was adequate and may have been nicer if i were not listening to tales of tummy bugs! No atmosphere, no music, just loud chatting of staff. This place could be a little goldmine and it makes me wonder if the owners don't think about why it is so quiet when everywhere else is busier? I assumed it was just a bad day but reading the other reviews I'm not sure.
