This is a great location for touring Cornwall. It is situated a little way out of Falmouth in it's own grounds and provides all the facilities that you could want for either a short or long stay.
The rooms vary very considerably and you would do well to explain what it is you are looking for when booking.
The food is excellent. Eating in the Restaurant is however not cheap but worth the treat for at least one night. Try the Manor Bar: the meals come from the same kitchen and are equally as tasty. After helping yourself to starters for breakfast any hot food you ordered will be brought to your table. The choice is varied and will suit all tastes.
The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.
There is a small fitness room and indoor swimming pool: (did not use either).
There is no lift but there are many rooms at ground floor level. There is a small car park near to reception (for loading and unloading primarily) and also a much larger one a short distance away. We will certainly return.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are well worth the extra.

Stayed here this week for 4 nights so, have a clear idea of the general atmosphere etc. The location is quiet about 20 mins walk to the sea but an easy drive with plenty of parking. Good bus and rail service if you dont want to walk.
The Hotel is typical Western. It has a good gym and 2 pools, indoor and out and they are of a good standard. The outdoor pool is very nicly set in the grounds. All the gym equipment is old but does work after a fashion! It does need replacing. Staff were very helpfull and friendly. However we do agree with other reveiwers who mention the cost of eating here. Breakfast is expensive but we saved on an all in deal. We would have eaten here more in the evening if the resturant had been a little cheaper. No choice of proper beer in the bar. (Poor choice in drinks all round in the bar really). Overall though, a rally nice place. Recommended.

Had high hopes from the outside but hotel is dark and tired looking. Went with friends and although we paid the same our room was inferior - dark and small with ripped net curtains. Bathroom very basic with poor shower. The same lady was on duty for the 2 days we were there doing reception, bar, waitressing and kitchen duty. Despite them saying they were fully booked it was like the Marie Celeste. Food expensive for what it is. Pool area was good - clean and quiet. Was surprised it was cheap basic bread served for breakfast and menu referred to sausages and has browns (plural) but only got one!

Room Tip: Not room 42!

Rooms are relatively clean but a little overpowered by the smell of the plug in air fresheners. The main frustration was the broken shower unit as it meant trying to hold the shower head up with one hand and wash shampoo from your eyes with the other! The walls are quite thin however the sleep quality was fine on the occasion we stayed. The service was good and the barman was really friendly and made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was tasty although a bit overpriced.

Not a bad room no 43, clean and tidy with T/V.
we paid extra for Breakfast typical English breakfast was very nice cooked well, but expensive.
On our first night after our drive down to Falmouth we decided to eat in, we picked the Bar food, I had fish pie very tasty, my partner had fish and chips.
The next night my partners birthday, again we were going to eat in the restaurant, not a lot of choice and quite pricey too. ( they could do with a Roast of the day each night)
There had been a hail storm early, but we braved that, went into town found a lovely Thai restaurant had a very good tasty meal and it made our evening.
The next evening we went into Town again this time to Rick Steins fish restaurant the fish was so fresh it melted in the mouth.
So my advice is eat out.

Room Tip: Have a room at the front sunny and good views.

Lovely hotel and grounds on the outside. Rooms clean and spacious but basic, very dated furnishings, dirty carpet. Strange smell in room. Bathroom functional but needs ripping out and replacing. Cheap, uneven lino squares on floor were lifting. Breakfast very uninspiring, cheap ingredients and basic, no frills, fruit out of a tin etc. staff pleasant but unobtrusive. Most travel inns offer more than this so not sure it great value for money apart from the swimming pool which was nice and clean with lovely, warm water. It has the potential to be so much more which is a shame.
