A friend and I went to the Meudon Hotel on Sunday for lunch .It was fantastic. The service ,the welcome we received on arrival, and the attention when we went down to the dining room. We had pork goujons as a starter , very good, my friend had roast beef and I had roast lamb. Perfectly cooked and the plate not overloaded. As for the 'sticky toffee pudding' that is to die for.

I can in all honesty recommend this hotel restaurant.

We stayed at the Meuden hotel for 3 nights, as we were going to a wedding near by. I can't fault the friendliness of the staff, Dave the bar man was a hoot !!! the food was lovely, the gardens are stunning, the only thing was the room, it was a bit tired. The bathroom was lovely, spotless, but the wardrobe and carpet I felt could do with being replaced. You can walk through the stunning gardens to bream cove, and there is a lovely coastal walk, we walked in to Falmouth and up to the castle. All in all a lovely stay.

Booked an overnight stay at the last minute. As you drive into the car park, your heart sinks slightly as the exterior does not match the web-site blurb. Then your spirits lift as you receive one of the warmest welcomes Cornwall has to offer. My bedroom was a mixture of early '80s retro, possibly even late '70s, with the most glorious radio set and worn furniture; but the room was spotless, as was the bathroom. The towels were lovely and fluffy. The bed was so comfortable, and huge. A large flat screen TV and free wifi brought things up to date. But the piece de resistance was the view of the garden. The garden is truly wonderful, and rivals the big gardens which are found nearby, ie, Trebah and Glendurgan, albeit on a smaller scale. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive, and the food was absolutely delicious. Only had a bar snack in the evening, but the three-times cooked chips were, quite frankly, the best chips I have ever tasted - and I know my chips! I had managed to get a good last-minute rate for the room and breakfast, and therefore did not mind that my room was not as contemporarily furnished as others in the hotel. Everything else far exceeded my first impressions, and I will definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: If contemporary furnishings are important to ou, ask for one of the modernised rooms. All rooms have...

Our booking at this hotel came by accident really, we had booked a differing b&b however due to a problem, they could not honour our booking so had organised our stay at a neighbouring b&b, The Meudon. This turned out to be a very pleasant stay, we were slightly put off by the outward appearance of the hotel. The original part of the building was gorgeous, but as you drive into the car park, first impressions were not what we expected. Please DO NOT be put off by this, the Reception staff (in our case Rita) were brilliant and super friendly, and we had a lovely refurbished room overlooking the stunning gardens. When asking about taxi's into Falmouth, we were even offered a lift. A case of nothing is too much trouble :-)!. The room was airy, bright and super clean with a huge comfy bed, and the quietist place I have ever slept. Breakfast was gorgeous, again the dining area looking over the stunning gardens. The hotel has its own private beach, which is a ten minute walk through the gardens and shouldnt be missed. In short, a very well priced b&b, a bit of a hidden gem. Fab staff, gorgeous gardens and a lovely position close to the beach. Well worth a visit, would be happy to go back for a weekend.

Room Tip: Room 45, a refurbished light and airy room overlooking the stunning gardens.

After a very hectic summer our weekend at Meudon was a lovely break. Our room had a superb view over the fantastic gardens and was very spacious. Our arrival in the rain was met with offers of umbrellas and help with the luggage and a parking space close to the room. When the room coffee wasnt quite as it should be, a tray was sent up very quickly to compensate. We would definitely recommend Meudon as a lovely place to wind down in peaceful surroundings and hope to visit again.

If you like being treated as a house guest rather than a hotel guest this is the place to go. Our holiday started with a genuinely warm welcome at reception and continued with courteous and friendly service throughout. The views from the spotless bedroom were beautiful; the meticulously maintained gardens ran down to a private beach perfect for exploring. The menu made excellent use of the best of local produce with lots of fresh fish. A lovely setting to relax and enjoy Cornish hospitality. We will be joining the ever growing group of repeat visitors!

Room Tip: Choose a recently refurbished contemporary garden room or suite.

We have just come back from a stay at this hotel and wanted to share oh thoughts.
Booking in was a bit of a farce really, the website clearly states that rooms are available from 11, but when we arrived at 3pm it was not ready. We were offered a cup of coffee whilst we waited, or, to walk through the hotel gardens and to return in 15 mins when it would be ready. We chose the latter, but, when we returned it was still not ready. We had plans so were unable to book in at that point so could not until we returned at 10pm.
We were not hopeful at this point, but I have to say this was the only hiccup in an otherwise lovely stay. The staff were polite and attentive and the room large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large and clean. We had to add our daughter into our room and this was no problem at all. The hotel is in a beautiful spot and after a good breakfast we enjoyed a walk to the beach and a paddle in the sea.
We had also booked for Sunday lunch- this was beautiful, hot and tasty, served by well mannered, polite and competent staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and it s on a par with many higher priced hotels in the area.
Dud we enjoy our stay? Yes. Would we stay again? Yes. Would we recommend it? Absolutely.

Room Tip: Garden rooms have great views.
