We stayed for 3 nights, one of which was in the 'annex'. The shower only would run for about 3 minutes, then stop entirely, just when you're covered in shampoo: very poor indeed. we then stayed in one of the new rooms in the attic which was much nicer, finished to a higher standard. overall the service was quite good and the food was also average.
I would not recommend a stay here, we won't be coming again I'm sorry to say.

We stayed here for the 4th year running en route to the Isles of Scilly. As usual the food and beer was excellent. Friendly service and the owners kindly did a full breakfast for us even though we had to leave early. The atmosphere is great and very dog friendly -- we will be back

This family run business with their supporting team of local people provide a real homely and welcoming service. Good food, pleasant surroundings, decent beer, restful nights sleep in a tranquil spot but still reception for vodaphone with wifi access in the room (apparently some rooms don't get wifi so ask if you need it). Breakfast sets you up for the day with a good selection of options including the traditional full English and breakfast fish options. Takes a little finding but so worth the effort.

Room Tip: Make sure you mention the wifi requirement if you need it. Just as suitable for a family visit as for business.

We went here today for lunchtime and we were greeted warmly made very welcome and then was presented with a delicious lunch. My husband chose a beet root/ walnut/ goats cheese salad to start I had the excellent chicken liver pâté we both chose the pork tenderloin with apricots for our main dish. The service was quick food nicely presented and taste exceptional we shall most d
definitely go back to eat again before our return home

This is what an English country pub should be. Log fires, a proper bar devoid of Muzak and filled with chat. Good food, fairly priced wine and local beers. The rooms are basic but clean and comfy and the staff are friendly. And the most beloved spaniel was made excessively welcome. . Ok so as the reviewer below points out there is limited wifi but there is laughter, friendliness and first thing in the morning wonderful birdsong. Thanks for a great stay...keep it your way.
